Port Douglas 2026 🌴
Three days with our Lifestyle and Legacy communities, partners by our side, celebrating what this year has really been about.
Not just revenue, profit and growth.
But the men behind the businesses.
The decisions they’ve made. The standards they’ve raised. The pressure they’ve carried. And the way they’ve continued to lead their teams, their businesses and their families through another big year.
The conference was about raising standards and leading through uncertainty.
The Awards Night was something special.
A chance to stop, look back and recognise some incredible transformations across business, wealth, health and family.
Then we finished with a day out on the reef; continuing the conversations, sharing a few laughs, snorkelling out on the reef and strengthening the relationships that make this community what it is.
That’s what these events are really about.
Creating the space to step away from the day-to-day, celebrate how far you’ve come, reconnect with the people around you, and raise the standard for what comes next.
Because Pravar has never just been about building better businesses.
It’s about transforming businesses, reconnecting families, and belonging to a community of people who genuinely want to see each other win.
Port Douglas, you delivered.
Now onto FY27. 👊

The Pravar team of expert Coaches activates Trades, Construction and Service Based business owners to break free from being trapped working crazy hours, and coexisting with their families to getting clarity, freedom and family reconnection.
Here’s an activity you can do today...
Open your accounting package or job management system and run a report on your customers over the last 12 to 24 months.
You’re looking for three things: the holes, the trends, and the opportunities.
Maybe there’s a strata manager who was giving you $20-30K a month. Six months ago it dropped to $5K. You never noticed... you just had a vague feeling they weren’t passing as much work.
We’ve done this with clients, and here’s what they find: the contact moved on, or there was an issue on a job site nobody talked about.
So the work quietly went to another trade.
No conversation.
No warning.
Just revenue walking out the door while you were too busy to see it.
Run the report. Look at the data. The numbers tell a story.

Most tradies think they’re doing account management. They’re not, they’re doing project management.
There’s a clear difference. Talking about the job, what’s happening on-site, where things are up to... that’s operational.
Account management from a sales perspective is something else entirely: deliberate, ongoing work on the relationship itself.
Because people do business with those they know, like, and trust.
That’s the essence of it. Building the rapport, the connection, the partnership — so they have the confidence to keep giving you work.
The confidence to keep passing you quotes.
The confidence to bring you back to the negotiation table even when someone else comes in cheaper.
That’s what wins ongoing work. And most of it is sitting right under your nose.

Port Douglas Awards Night 2026 was a night to remember 🏆
This year marked something new for Pravar.. for the first time, our Lifestyle and Legacy communities came together under one roof to celebrate the year that’s been.
Not just the business results, but the men who stayed in the fight, kept showing up, and became better leaders, husbands and fathers along the way.
Congratulations to our 2026 category winners:
🏆 Bevan Award — Jake Mohr, Power Mate Electrics
🏆 Transformation Award — Danny Hipwell, Bendigo Building Repairs
🏆 Breakthrough Award — Matt Ryan, MTR Electrical
🏆 Excellence Award — David Willcox, Common Ground
From taking his business past $5M while still packing school lunches, to a man who went from “”maybe this is as good as it gets”” to leading with total clarity, to backing his value and taking his seat at the table, to building an $13M business without losing its heart... these stories are proof of what’s possible when a man raises his standard and refuses to settle.
To everyone who celebrated and showed up for each other in that rainforest.
Thank you.
This community is built by every single one of you.
Here’s to another year of raising the bar 👊
The biggest cost of staying on the tools isn’t the hours. It’s growth.
When the owner is at maximum capacity, the business is at maximum capacity.
It’s not a market issue, it’s a capacity issue.
Your time is filled with work that brings in revenue but does nothing to grow the business or capitalise on the opportunities sitting right in front of you.
We hear it all the time.
Working 60 hours a week, 15 or 20 of them on the tools, money’s not where it should be, feeling disconnected from the family.
Something’s gotta change.
So here’s the question: are you actually ready to step off the tools and run the business properly?
Because “”kind of ready”” isn’t a decision. You can’t have one leg either side of the fence trying to be a tradie and a business owner at the same time means doing both badly.

“No one can do it like I can.”
Every owner says it. And it’s true no one will treat your business exactly like you do.
But that’s the wrong measure.
Gary Vee put it this way: you’re better off with six people doing the job 80% as well as you than doing it 100% yourself. Because when you give good people the chance to do work they love and hold them to a real standard they don’t just meet your bar.
Sometimes they raise it.
It’s not about trusting a person to be you. It’s about trusting their productivity, their performance, and their level of ex*****on in the areas where they’re better than you.

“I don’t have enough time.”
Every tradie says it. Almost none of them mean it.
You’ve got the same 24 hours as the bloke doing $3M a year. The difference isn’t time... it’s what you’re spending it on.
Materials runs. Chasing invoices. Quoting at 9pm.
Being on the tools 5 days a week because “no one does it like you.”
The fix starts with one question, it’s on slide 4.
Ask it about every task you did this week and watch how fast your priorities change.
We break the whole thing down in The Time Myth our guide for trades business owners who are busy, broke and stuck.
Comment “Time” to get it for free.
Every tradie knows those words.
“”While you’re here—“”
“”If you’ve got a minute—“”
“”Could you just check this out?””
That’s a variation. Every single time.
It’s not about saying no to the client.
It’s about being firm and fair on what was and wasn’t in the quote.
“”We can do that, but we’ll need to quote you for it.””
You preserve the relationship AND you protect your margin, by stop gifting away hours of work because someone asked nicely.
Every “”while you’re here”” that goes unquoted is money you’ve already lost.

We had a client lose $100K off his bottom line in 12 months because of poor variation management.
Not from one massive mistake.
One job: $10K gone.
Another: $15K.
Another: $8K.
At the time, none of them felt like a big deal.
But over 12 months, those missed variations quietly stripped $100,000 out of his margin.
The dangerous part was that he thought the jobs were going well.
The team was busy.
The clients were happy.
The work was getting done.
But underneath the surface, his margin was getting smashed without him even realising.
That’s why cashflow felt tight.
That’s why hiring felt out of reach.
That’s why growth felt harder than it should have.
Poor variation management can destroy your margin.
Strong variation management can keep that same $100K in the business.
And suddenly, hiring, investing and growing don’t feel so far out of reach.

You don’t need a new system. You don’t need a big restructure.
You just need to get honest about where your time is actually going.
Here’s a challenge for you this week.
👉 Write down every admin task you touched in the last 7 days.
👉 Estimate the hours.
👉 Then ask yourself honestly; is this the best use of my time?
That list? That’s your first hire’s job description.
Already have an admin? Do the same exercise. Then sit down with them and go through it together.
What’s still landing on your plate that shouldn’t be? What can they take off your hands right now?
These are the Low Value Tasks (LVT’s) that can be deleted or delegated off your plate.
This is the very process that has helped hundreds of clients reclaim their nights and weekeds with their families.
