Most people think bench press = chest and arms.
Holly's here to tell you otherwise πŸ‘‡
It's a compound movement, which means every muscle group should be pulling its weight. Drive through the balls of your feet β†’ quads switch on β†’ glutes squeeze β†’ upper back sets β†’ THEN you press.
Skip the legs and you're only using half the lift (and leaving strength on the table).
Next time you're under the bar at BFT Hampton, give it a go. Feet back slightly, drive down, squeeze, then press. Small fix, big difference once that weight starts climbing.

Steve walked into BFT Hampton wondering if he'd fit in and keep up. Spoiler: he absolutely does, and then some.
Before joining, he was ticking the gym box but not really feeling it, low motivation, not much effort, just going through the motions. What changed? The Hampton team. From day one they made him feel at home, gave him the accountability he was missing, and the rest is history.
These days Steve's down in weight, up in strength, and four sessions a week is just part of the routine. Training's become his biggest stress outlet and honestly, we reckon the studio's a better place every time he walks through the door.
Always arrives with a smile, gets straight to work, and brings the energy for everyone around him. A proper legend and an absolute superstar to have in class. πŸ™Œ
