This week, we Celebrate our cherished "LIFE MEMBERS"

These men, who gave up Saturday after Saturday, sacrificed family time, weddings, birthdays, social time to play the game they love with their mates.
As a Southern Serpents Cricket Club life member, you need to have played 100 games, for our Great club and we have been blessed so far to have 36 members currently on the Honour Roll.
So if you see your name, THANKYOU!
Your commitment to Our club, is very much appreciated.
So if you are on this list of fine upstanding YOUNG men, we would love to see you for a b**r and a chinwag on any given Saturday at the club, come see the improvements to your club, see the evolution and to tell the current crop how good you once were.
So who will be the next life member..... only time will tell. 🐍🐍🐍🐍

** THE LAST TIME WE MET **
Southern Serpents Cricket Club v Morphett Vale CC.
This one day game, played at the Sepents Den, should have been a formality for the no.2 ranked Serpents on home soil, but Morphett Vale sitting mid table had other ideas, to upset the apple cart.
The Serps, winning the toss and electing to bat, made a half decent and defendable total of 136, with good batting performances from Matty Baig 35, Skipper Scott Thiele 22 and a late cameo from Champs, with a quick fire 19* to help at the end.
Unfortunately Morphett Vale made semi light work of the game and passing our total in the 29th over, with Champs, again standing up on his way to "A" grade promotion, being the best of the bowlers with 1/29 from his alloted 8 overs with the new ball, with good backup again from the ever reliable Captain Thiels.
So, we embark on a new game today against a neighbouring foe, with an experienced side, looking to make sure the "B's" get the big W on the board and bring home the Bacon, as the OLD boys playing, can certainly down a good BBQ and Some cleansing ales for sure....

** THE LAST TIME WE MET ** Southern Serpents Cricket Club v Sheidow Park CC
This was a Semi Final that also had a little bit of history, or what our club like to term a "CHAPPY HOUR 🍻"
Sheidow Park sitting on top of the Section 3 ladder going into this game, going up against a Serpents side that slid into 4th, a bit of a David v Goliath type of game, and only one team could move forward to the Big Dance.
Sheidow, playing on their home deck and winning the toss decided to bat first, in what one would seem a formality to move to the next week of Glory.... but one man had other idea's!!!! His name Brendan Chapple. Chappy came on from one end and torn the Bulls apart with one of the best individual bowling performances seen at out our club. After 10 overs Chappy had the incredible figures of 7/19 - (7th best ever figures for the club) going for less than 2 runs an over on a small Primary School oval, to leave Sheidow Park all out for 123.
Cameo's with ball from Souts and Brycie, helped.
So then all that was left was to get the Choccys and onto the GF.
Our Batting wasnt plain sailing either with the pressure of the big day, weighing down our "A's".
Led by Sambo 34*, UA 20 and Tommy 21, we managed to get over the line with that man Chappy bringing up the tail, with a little knock of 14, to finish the day not only BOG, but helping the boys into another Grand Final.
So with today a new day, a new game, another season, let get behind the boys to do it again against our cross the road rivals and notch up our 2nd win of the year and make it 2 from 3.....
