What a massive day of Footy for Fun at the Sydney Mini-Carnival!

A huge shoutout to our mates from Blue Mountains AFL Sydney AFL Masters Balmain AFC Masters NorthWest Sydney Redbacks AFL Masters South Coast Buccaneers Southern Dingoes AFC Hunter AFL Masters who made it down on Saturday, 5th September for an absolute blockbuster day of Masters footy.

From first bounce to the final siren, we showed that while the bodies might move a little slower these days, the skills, passion, and competitive spirit are sharper than ever. Seeing so many familiar faces pulling on the boots, supporting their mates, and leaving it all on the park is exactly what Footy For Fun is all about.

Each team played two matches and the final winner was awarded to Hunter AFL Masters with the best points differential, well done and we look forward to trying to win it from you in 2027.

The Macarthur Wombats - Footy for Fun and Blue Mountains AFL came together for a fantastic joint intraclub game, with 18 v 18 taking to the field and putting on a great contest at Rosedale Oval (thanks Sydney AFL Masters)

More importantly, it was another great example of what AFL Masters is all about - keeping active, having a laugh, building friendships and enjoying footy with a great community of people.

After the game, everyone stuck around for a BBQ 🌭🥩 and a few refreshing beverages 🍻 - the perfect way to finish off a great afternoon!

A massive thank you to everyone who played, supported and helped make the day happen.

What a cracker of a day at Fairfax Reserve for our Macarthur Wombats - Footy for Fun Past Players Day! The sun was shining before the lights took over, the cold ones were flowing, and the atmosphere on and off the field was second to none.

A massive thank you to all our Macarthur Wombats - Footy for Fun past players and legends who came down to show their support, catch up with old mates, and cheer on the next generation of Macarthur Wombats - Footy for Fun. You blokes built the culture of this club, and it was awesome having you back around the sidelines! 🙌💛💙

On the field, the main event certainly didn't disappoint. We took on our mates from the NorthWest Sydney Redbacks AFL Masters, and as expected, it was a hard - fought contest played in true Masters spirit - hard at the footy, fair in the contest, and full of mutual respect.

The NorthWest Sydney Redbacks AFL Masters made us work for every single possession, but our lads dug in deep, put in the extra efforts, and held strong to claim a fantastic win! 🏆 AFL Masters footy at its absolute finest.

Great to host our mates from the AFL Masters ACT Cockies at Harrington Park! The winter weather turned it on, and the match was another clear reminder of why AFL Masters is the best version of the game. Fantastic to catch up with so many familiar faces before a tough, hard-fought contest played in true Masters spirit—hard at the footy, fair in the contest, and always full of respect.

We made the AFL Masters ACT Cockies earn every single possession and pushed them all the way, but despite a massive effort across the park, the visitors held strong to take the win on the day.

Our lads dug in deep, with plenty of blokes stepping up, and putting in second and third efforts when sore bodies started piling up. The midfield battle was a cracker, and while the result didn't go our way, the mateship, team effort, and banter after the final siren showed what Wombats footy is all about.

Congrats to AdamandRachel Banister for taking out the Macarthur Urology Wombats player of the day.
