Myall Park Croquet Club Hawks Nest Myall Park Croquet Club is located in the beach side town of Hawks Nest on the mid coast of NSW.

We play Golf Croquet & have a few Association Croquet players too. We are a small, friendly Club & welcome new players & visitors from other Clubs.

**PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO CROQUET THIS SATURDAY 19/9 TO ALLOW THE LAWNS TO BENEFIT FROM THE WORK DONE ON THURSDAY**

This week at MPCC: Hawks Nest has experienced some extremes of weather over the past few days, 26° plus and sunny on Saturday and Monday, and 17° and very windy on Wednesday but still we had a good turn out on all three days.

The club recieved a very generous anonymous donation for an awning to go across the front of the roller doors to provide some shelter from the sun and rain, and we are delighted to announce that it has been completed in time for Spring. Thanks to Andrew and Gary for the excellent job of managing the process and staining the frame.

On Thursday, Andrew braved the unpleasant squally weather to oversee the scheduled aeration and fertilisation of our lawns, which are now being rested until Monday. Our thanks to Richard Stephenson of Aeraturf Newcastle for undertaking this work.

As always, we are very grateful to Andrew, Gary and all the volunteers who keep the club running.

It's been a big week at MPCC, with a good turn up on all three days and both courts in action. The courts were fast and the competition strong.

Today saw a little excitement when a very large dog thought all his dreams had come true and ran onto Court 1 to play ball with the crazy humans. He was very quickly ushered politely out and the gate firmly closed behind him.

We were thrilled by the coverage by Myall Coast NoTA of our Spring into Spring get together and also of Gary and Andrew's fantastic results at the Forster AC Carnival last week.

The frame for the awning is complete and has now been stained and will likely be completed in the next couple of weeks.

And for those of you interested, we still have three baby masked lapwings and their parents telling us off for using their court.

Wow, huge congratulations to Club Treasurer, Gary Bennett and Club President, Andrew Sillar who successfully competed at the recent Forster Association Croquet Spring Carnival.

Gary finished first in his block with 5 wins and no losses, while Andrew finished third with 3 wins and 2 losses.

The dreaded westerlies and the threatened rain mostly held off and a good turn up of members provided some great days of play across the all three Golf Croquet mornings.

We would like to congratulation Gary for achieving his Level 1 Golf Croquet Coaching accreditation on Thursday. This will be of huge benefit to the club.

If you are looking for something different to do early next week, Gary, together with Club President Andrew, will be representing MPCC at the Forster Spring Carnival for Association Croquet. And a cheer squad would be appreciated.

They will play five games in total, two each on Monday and Tuesday and one on Wednesday morning. If you haven't watched a game of Association, it is very strategic and challenging each player needing to run every hoop and then peg out.

We wish them well and hope they have fun.

You may have noticed that there is a change to our facade at the club house. After discussing it for what seems like a very long time, we have finally begun construction on the awning across the two roller doors and the path outside. This will provide shade on really hot days and protect the club from rain and wind.

As always, we are grateful for the hard work of the committee and the support of the members to keep the club running.

This week at MPCC, Hawks Nest saw some wonderful weather, if a tad windy at the beginning of the week.

We were light on for GC players early in the week which saw a number of people play two balls including Sue (coming back from an injury) and Jenny (who stepped up despite still having her L plates on).

But we had a good turn out on Saturday.
Thank you to all who participated.

Andrew and Gary are diligently practising AC on Tuesdays in preparation for the Forster Spring Carnival for Association Croquet running from 31st August to 2nd September.

Gary will also be attending a Golf Croquet Level 1 coaching accreditation course in late August which will deepen the depth of knowledge at the club to assist new and first time players with the fundamentals of GC.

Well, it's been quite a week here at MPCC, with our AGM held on Monday. Our thanks to the outgoing committee for all their hard work in keeping the club and grounds in such great condition. And a welcome to the incoming committee who will continue the good work.

The weather has been mostly kind to us, a few windy days, but not a lot of rain interruptions to our games.

We have a couple of members practising for an AC tournament to be held in Forster in a couple of weeks.

We look forward to seeing you on the court.
