Our 5th annual Australia Day Rolling 4s Tournament was held yesterday, and it was a pretty special day. Thanks to all entrants, organisers, volunteers, and of course our generous sponsors.

Hawthorn Bowling Club is looking for new members to join our fantastic club.
We are a friendly and inclusive bunch, and would warmly welcome people from all ages and backgrounds.
Bowls is a great way to get outside, get some exercise, and be part of a supportive community environment.
No experience required. Just come up to our clubhouse atop of St James Park, and one of our friendly members will get you some bowls to have a try. If you enjoy it, and we know you will, social memberships are available at a very reasonable price of $50, which gives you access to the greens, facilities, and coaching for a whole year. And as a special, you can get your first year Full Membership for $65, which includes a free playing top!
Take the plunge and pop in Tuesday or Thursday afternoon and give it a try. You won't regret it!

This Saturday we have our Season Opening Event at the club.
There will be bowls from 1pm onwards.
Baked goodies and cocktails from 4pm.
All members are welcome; new, social, and playing. No bowling experience necessary. Just come along and enjoy the festivities.

Note an old pavilion was then located on the northern boundary and behind it you can see the Denham Street two-storey terrace. If you'd like to know about the early history of this club which was founded in 1880 and the movers and shakers in Hawthorn at that time, feel free to come along to Peter Dyring's presentation at 25 Inglesby Road, Camberwell at 2.00pm this Sunday.
