Swinburne Amateur Football Club compete in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) The Swinburne Amateur Football Club (The Razorbacks) was started in 1995 when the Swinburne Universityβs then Chancellor and business magnate, Richard Pratt, began proceedings to form a football club to add to the many other sporting committees and clubs already part of the Swinburne sporting culture. From our one team in 1995/6 we have grown to have seniors, reserves, clubbies and a womenβs team in the inaugural year of VAFAW in 2017.
2016 was one of the biggest years for the club. 2016 we saw the reserves take out the VAFA D3 Premiership, this has only made us hungry for more finals success in the years to come. 2016 also saw us as one of the inaugural clubs to pledge to have a womenβs team in the 2017 season, we held an exhibition match that saw record crowds at St James park. We are always welcoming new players to our club, experience isnβt necessary as we support all players to get the best out of their football experience.
