Vale Bill Aggenbach

The Alpine Rally community is deeply saddened by the passing of Bill Aggenbach.

Bill was a valued member of the rallying community, and his involvement, enthusiasm and friendship were greatly appreciated by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and especially for his support over many years for the Alpine Rally.

Rallying is about much more than cars and competition. It is about the people, the friendships and the shared experiences that stay with us long after the final control. Bill was one of those people who helped make our sport and our community what it is.

On behalf of everyone associated with the Alpine Rally, we extend our sincere condolences to Bill’s family and friends.

Bill will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered.

A glimpse into Saturday’s winery SS start line Yarra Valley Winery 🍷🍇

Crews will have driven 420kms of competitive roads across Friday & Saturday, before setting out to complete a 2km Super Special Stage around Rochford Winery. All before facing another 140km on Sunday.

Mark 3rd - 5th December 2027 in your calendars. It’s going to be an event to remember.

🏁 Craig Jarvie Appointed Clerk of Course for the 2027 Alpine Rally 🏁
The Historic Rally Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Jarvie as Clerk of Course for the 2027 Alpine Rally.
With extensive experience delivering major rally events, Craig will lead the planning and delivery of one of Australia's most iconic historic motorsport events, alongside Road Director Aidan O'Halloran.
The 2027 Alpine Rally will be based at Rochford Wines, Coldstream, and will once again see competitors tackle three days of spectacular roads through Victoria's renowned rally country.
HRA President Joel Wald said the early appointment is an important step in ensuring the event is professionally planned and delivered, providing competitors, volunteers and officials with another outstanding Alpine Rally experience.
Planning is already underway, with more information on entries, routes and event details to be released over the coming months.
We look forward to sharing the journey with you as we build towards December 2027.

HRA member Peter Burley has been hard at work recently converting a number of old Alpine Rally film reels to digital. So far he has done 1973, 1976, 1977and 1978. All of these can now be found on the Alpine Rally YouTube Channel.
