Well today, for the finale round of the NSW State Hillclimb Championships we travelled to Gunnedah NSW to run at the Mt Porcupine Hillclimb. With us only 1 point behind outright for the championship we had some special upgrades done to the car, but things didn’t pan out. We broke a rear diff, a front axle and suspect a possible centre diff issue off the start line for the first run, ending our day.
Huge congrats to Miles H***e for taking the W today and ultimately winning the championship outright for 2026. We came close to being the first tin top to ever win the championship outright but didn’t get there. End of the season we came away with 1st in class, 1st tin top and 2nd outright. Always next year as they say.

How’s the staging line up for this start? You can’t get much closer than this. More luck than talent going on here!

Turn it up, inside view of our fastest run at last weekends NSW State Hillclimb Championships.
This run got us 1st in class, 1st tin top and 3rd outright. The day was cold with the scattered drizzle, far from our PB times but everyone was driving in the same conditions. Racers Addiction MG Car Club Newcastle for putting the event on. NSW Hillclimb Championship DVS Tuning Deshele Performance

On the weekend, Round 7 of the NSW State Hillclimb Championships were held by MG Car Club Newcastle.
The weather was cold with the scattered shower throughout the day, causing everyone some traction issues with a 68 car field entered.
Outright positions were taken out by Dave Morrow in his Krygger Suzuki followed by Miles H***e in his OMS 25 with our very own Tim Blake rounding out the podium with 3rd in his Subaru WRX.
Class positions went to;
Kevin Akers - 2C Clubman 0-1600cc who may need to do some maintenance before the next round with a damaged gearbox after an excursion into the paddock (as seen in the pics below),
Greg Jones - 2A Open Sports,
James Graham - 3J Impra 0-1600cc and a new class record, Cameron Brown - 3J Impra 1600-2000cc,
Rick Yates - 3J Impra 2000-3000cc,
Riley Macqueen - 3J Impra 3000-6000cc,
David Hussey - 3J Impra AWD,
Simon Quayle - RR AWD,
Garry Christopherson - RR Over 2500cc,
Nathan Apps - RR Under 2500cc, who has also secured the class title already with one round still remaining,
Denis Russell - Formula Libre 0-750cc,
Dave Morrow - Formula Libre 751-1300cc,
Miles H***e - Formula Libre over 2000cc,

Austin Carter took out fastest Junior and Tim Blake fastest Tin Top.
The finale round is just over 4 weeks away in Gunnedah with only 1 point separating 1st and 2nd outright.
Thanks to the Don J Graham and Msport Images for the pics!
