Weโre proud to recognise Marcus Sande, who has been selected to represent Australia at the Youth Pan Pacific 15U Championship, taking place from 29 October to 2 November 2026 at Queenstown Ice Arena in Queenstown, New Zealand. ๐ณ๐ฟ๐
At just 14 years old, Marcus is the youngest Victorian selected to the Australian Pan Pacific team. A gifted playmaker and relentless worker, Marcus has already built an impressive record through the Victorian junior pathway, combining high-end offensive production with a work ethic and attitude that consistently sets him apart.
Marcusโs journey includes:
โข IHV Pathway: most recently playing 15U with the IceHQ Ducks and 17U with the Melbourne Demons, Marcus has produced at an exceptional rate across both age groups. This season he recorded 52 points in 15 games at 15U, while playing up at 17U and recording 23 goals and 12 assists for 35 points in 15 games, currently ranking third in points across the entire 17U league despite being one of its youngest players. He also serves as an Alternate Captain with the Demons 17U. ๐๐ฅ
โข National Hockey: represented Victoria at the Ginsberg Trophy in 2023, 2024 and 2025, captaining Victoria in his final Ginsberg campaign and finishing as the tournamentโs leading point scorer. He progressed to the De Fris Trophy in 2026, helping Victoria capture gold while contributing 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points across 6 games. ๐ฅ
โข International: Marcus now takes the next step in his development, earning the opportunity to pull on the green and gold as the youngest Victorian in this yearโs Australian Youth Pan Pacific 15U squad. ๐ฆ๐บ
Marcus will proudly represent Victoria alongside fellow Victorians Angus Hunter, Max Simmonds, Ethan Qin, Ryan Wang, and Isaiah Priday, as Australia heads to Queenstown to take on Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Thailand.
Congratulations, Marcus. At just 14, his combination of playmaking ability, production and relentless work ethic has already carried him from Victorian representative hockey to the opportunity to represent Australia. Best of luck in Queenstown! ๐๐๐ฅ
