WHY INCLUSION MATTERS! 🤝

Inclusion matters because taking part is not always as simple as being invited and just showing up.

For some people, walking into a new space can feel overwhelming. The noise, the expectations, the uncertainty, the fear of being judged, or the worry that they may not “fit in” can be enough to stop people from even trying.

That is why inclusion needs to start before the activity even begins!

It truly starts with the way people are welcomed in, by providing flexible options and understanding that participation can look different for everyone.

Some people will join in loudly.
Some people just like to watch.
Some people need extra breaks
Some people like to move in their own way.
Some people connect without many words

But no matter how you connect, move, or participate, every single version of showing up and participating counts. That needs to be recognised and appreciated, because when people feel like they belong and they are safe, confidence has real room to grow, connection becomes so much easier, and joy feels safer to share!

Inclusion really matters because everyone deserves to feel like there is a place for them, without having to change who they truly are.

🌈 Why Wiggle & Giggle? 🌈

Wiggle & Giggle is an inclusive dance and social group created for people who need a space that is flexible, welcoming and understanding.

We use music, movement, games and social time to help build confidence, encourage connection and give our Giggle Buddies a place where they can join in at their own pace.

Our sessions are not about perfect dancing or keeping up with everyone else. They are about participation, expression, friendship and fun.

💜 Parents and carers can stay and join in.
🎶 No dance experience needed.
🌈 Breaks, noise and movement are okay.
☕ Tea station for connection and support.
🧸 Cozy corner for regulation and to rest.
✨ First class is on us!

There’s no “right” way to show progress, and no timeline you need to match. What matters is that people are supported to take part in ways that feel right for them, not forced into ways that don’t.

When we slow down expectations and make space for difference, we remember that steady, personal growth is still progress, even if it doesn’t look the same for everyone. 🌈

Too often, environments are not designed with real diversity in mind, whether that’s different abilities, communication styles, sensory needs, or ways of engaging with the world. This can make participation harder than it needs to be, and connection feel out of reach.

True inclusion isn’t about asking people to adapt to a space. It’s about shaping spaces, activities, and communities to be truly accessible so everyone has a genuine opportunity to take part in a way that works for them.

When inclusion is done well, people aren’t just accommodated for; their respected, supported, and able to connect without pressure or judgement.

Inclusion shouldn't be a luxury; it isn’t a bonus. It’s a basic right.
