With sadness we have learnt that life member Col McCartney has passed away over the weekend.

Col was an active sailor across 18ft skiffs and later in the Historical 10ft Skiffs. He had lived next to the Bulimba Clubhouse for many years years. Even in failing health he would come down and watch the 10s at Bulimba point.

If you are able please make time to remember Col. Funeral details to come.

Eight bells. Fair winds and following seas for your next journey.

We've had three boats down at Teralba Amateur Sailing Club for the 2026 Historical 10ft Australian Championships. Unfortunately today's racing was called off with strong winds. Congratulations to Miss Marlene (Dale Jacobsen) for the overall Bob Lundie Shid and L'il Imp 3 (Anthony Anderson) for the James Hardy Handicap.

Great sailing today by Scott, Joel and Dave, second in the last heat and third overall.

Great effort from all of our sailors Dave, Trent and Elliott, and the Brisbane 18s Josh, Ben and Angus.

This photo sums up Team Queensland. A group of sailors who have worked together for the greater good of each other. Who have all spoken up in coaching session debriefing with .

Without the level of preparation that you all put in to get to Sydney these results would not have been possible.
We've shown the world that we have some of the best 18ft Skiff sailors and we're going to be challenging for a title. Well done

It's been way too long since a Queensland skiff has been on the podium.
