Hervey Bay Paddle & Outrigger Canoe Club

Training morning in the vicinity of Reef World Aquarium and Urangan Beach. Easy paddle with 2 x OC6 (Outrigger Canoe with 6 seats) and 1 x OC2. Much enjoyed morning coffee and tucker at the Hervey Bay Boat Club afterwards.

A paddle out last Sunday in 2 x OC6 and 1 x OC1. Warm enough for the crews to take a dip out at Round Island. We went a bit further around the yellow marker making the trip approx 7km.

A few bumps on the water today. 7km out around Round Island, over to the yellow marker and back into the marina followed by coffee at Chit Chats.

Almost glass for water. Out towards the Urangan Pier from the marina then out to Round Island and a couple of seat swaps between the canoes. We saw Dugongs, Turtles, Dolphins, Pelicans and Cormorants all in one trip. Approx 7km round trip.

Today’s paddle over to Round Island and then on to Woody island and back to the marina. Approximate 8km. Beautiful conditions out on the water. Best way to start the day.

A perfect winter morning for paddle! It included turtles and dolphins as well as a tough paddle against the tide. Shout out to the Fraser Coast outrigger crew who we saw briefly off Round Is.

Our new gear has arrived! We would like to sincerely thank Fraser Coast Regional Council who awarded us some money thought their community grants program . The money has been spent on a variety of new equipment (such as PFDs, paddles, marine radios, leg ropes, etc). It is great to see our council supporting local clubs!

A bit foggy this morning, but lovely paddling conditions. It was a pleasure to be out on the water. And we had our first session with our brand new coach!

We did a shorter paddle around Round Island this morning. Conditions were lovely, and it was very enjoyable.

Calm water and a high tide this morning for a paddle to Pulgul Creek. Very enjoyable! A lovely Autumn morning for a paddle.
