🎣 A GLAMOUR DAY ON THE BAY! 🎣

The Fisho’s crew snuck offshore the other week to take advantage of a cracking forecast, with a plan to target some late-season snapper and cobia on first light, gather a few live baits, and then push wide for the day.

And the crew managed to tick all the boxes! ✅

Venturing wide into the central Bay, the lads started spot-hopping in search of some quality fish. With minimal life showing across many of the spots, it was shaping up to be a tough day on the water.

After working hard for minimal reward, the crew began making their way back south. The further they pushed back into the gutters, the better the fishing got! Although it certainly wasn’t red-hot, the lads managed to piece together a quality box of fish, with some absolutely exceptional colour. 🔥

The BIG cod were thick, with three fish successfully vented and released. These big reef cod are a vital part of our reef systems, and we always prefer to see them swim away when possible. That said, barotrauma can make release difficult, and if a fish can’t be successfully released, they’re still exceptional eating.

The standout offering for the day? Live yakka! 🐟

When the bite was slow, a well-presented live bait made all the difference, accounting for some of the better-quality fish.

Nonetheless, another bloody great day on the Bay. Good mates, a few quality fish, plenty of laughs, and a day spent doing what we love.

Sometimes, that’s what it’s all about. 🤙

🎣 A QUICK EVENING ON MONDURAN! 🎣

Dane snuck up to Lake Monduran for a quick evening session with good mate Terry Allwood from Flick-it Fishing Charters — and the dam certainly didn’t disappoint! 🔥

The lads kicked things off working the edges, finding good numbers of fish but only managing to convert two rats.

Once the sun dropped, they moved out wider, put the scope to work, and Terry — aka ‘The Sniper’ — went to work! 🎯

A few solid early meter-class fish hit the boat before Dane eventually joined the party, upgrading from a sub-90cm model to a solid 111cm fish! 💪

For a couple of hours around sunset, the fishing was absolutely on fire. The fish were active, reacting instantly as the lure was brought past their faces. When they’re feeding like that, it’s hard to beat! 😎

The go-to lures for the session were the Raid Strolling Baits and jig head flies by Fish N Fly Customs — two serious options when you’re targeting impoundment barra with the scope.

The dam is looking epic, the fish are big, and with these warming temperatures getting them more active, things are only going to get better.
