We'll be covering light tackle rigs, lure rigging, knots, leader setups, and plenty of practical advice to help you get the most out of your next fishing trip.

The Hervey Bay Game Fishing Club is encouraging all of our young fishers to get involved in the GFAA National Junior Tournament!

This fantastic Australia-wide competition is completely FREE to enter and is open to all junior anglers who are members of a GFAA-affiliated club, including HBGFC.

Whether you fish from a boat, beach, jetty, creek, river or lake, you can compete against other junior anglers from across Australia while doing what you love most – fishing! 🐟

The tournament runs from 1 July through to 30 June each year, giving juniors plenty of opportunities to enter fish and earn points throughout the season.

This is a fantastic way for young anglers to develop their fishing skills, learn more about responsible fishing practices, and be recognised for their achievements on a national stage.

🎣 MMM Competition Presentation Night Wrap-Up 🏆

What a fantastic night at the Hervey Bay Game Fishing Club as we celebrated the conclusion of a successful May Measure Madness Competition!

A huge congratulations to all of our winners, placegetters and participants who got out on the water, supported the competition. With 31 entrants having to battle the terrible weather for the month, the quality of catches recorded throughout the competition was outstanding and showcased the incredible fishing opportunities we are lucky to have right here in Hervey Bay.

Last night’s presentation was a great opportunity to recognise the efforts of our anglers, catch up with fellow members and celebrate the spirit of our club. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening enjoyable.
