🏀💙💛 U14 CQJBC GLADSTONE – WEEKEND WRAP SO FAR! 💛💙🏀

What a weekend it has been so far for our Hervey Bay Hurricanes in Gladstone!

Our U14 Boys Division 1, Boys Division 2 and Girls teams have represented Hervey Bay with pride, showing incredible effort, determination, resilience and teamwork every time they have stepped onto the court. From tough contests to exciting finishes, our athletes have continued to compete with heart and represent our association exceptionally well.

Win, lose or draw, we couldn’t be prouder of the way these young players wear the Hurricanes jersey. The sportsmanship, hustle and team spirit on display throughout the carnival have been fantastic to watch.

A huge thank you to our coaches, team managers, referees, volunteers and travelling families who make weekends like this possible. Your dedication and support help create these opportunities for our athletes to grow both on and off the court.

Our Rep Ready Academy is a 6-week development program designed to assist junior athletes preparing to trial for our U16 & U18 Hervey Bay Hurricanes Representative Teams. Sessions will include a mix of team concepts, skill-based drills and small group development opportunities to help players build confidence and improve their game in a high-performance environment.

Led by our Director of Pathways & Development – Ethan Burgess, players will experience training aligned to the Basketball QLD style of play. Ethan will also be joined by some of our region’s most experienced coaches and players:

🔥 Nate Sewell – Men’s Hervey Bay Hurricanes Player

💜🩵 What a special night for our basketball community 🏀🙌

A heartfelt thank you to all our members, business partners, suppliers, foundation sponsors and representative sponsors who joined us tonight to celebrate our first round of games at the new stadium.

The past 18 months have been filled with long days of construction 🏗️, project management, stakeholder meetings and plenty of juggling as we moved our programs from venue to venue. But tonight made every challenge worth it.

For the first time ever, our association hosted club games on our very own home court 🙌 The atmosphere was electric, the stadium was buzzing and the smiles across the courts reminded us exactly why this project matters so much to our community 🤩

A very special thank you also goes to Kane Macready and Andrew Priest, who have worked tirelessly alongside the builders to help bring this project to opening stage. Your commitment, time and dedication to Hervey Bay Basketball has been incredible and we are so grateful for everything you have done 💜🩵

🏀 Monday 18th May games have venue changes - now at USHS due to damage in ring at HBH.
🏀 Some Wednesday 20th May games have also changed venues.
🏀 Multiple make-up rounds and catch-up games have now been rescheduled.
🏀 Some games will now be played on different days to regular fixtures.

Our Rep Ready Academy kicks off this Sunday with an outstanding coaching group bringing experience from State level, USA College, and Local Representative basketball - all focused on helping you take the next step in your game.
