This year marks the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week (6 to 13 July 2025), a national celebration of the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The 2025 theme – ‘The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy’ – honours the enduring strength of Indigenous communities, the visionary leadership of emerging young voices, and the powerful legacy passed down through generations.
Celebrate NAIDOC Week by attending local events, workshops and cultural performances in your area 👉 Find an event near you https://ow.ly/hyRx50Wk746

Today we commemorate Anzac Day.
This significant date is a time to honour the courage and sacrifices of Australia’s servicemen and women and pay tribute to those who laid down their lives in service to our country.
In 2025, we reflect on 110 years since the Gallipoli Campaign where Australian and New Zealand soldiers formed part of the allied expedition that set out to capture the Gallipoli peninsula.
We express deep gratitude to all who have served or continue to serve in our defence forces and reserves.
As we honour their legacy, we also acknowledge the contributions of Western Australian Aboriginal men who served in WWI. Read the No Less Worthy publication by Aboriginal History WA to learn more about their stories ➡️ https://ow.ly/4O5150VGHrZ

Lest We Forget
Today, on ANZAC Day, we recognise and remember the bravery and sacrifice of Australia’s servicemen and women. ANZAC Day marks the anniversary of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps’ first major military action, which was at Gallipoli during World War One.
It is a good time to revisit two important publications from our Aboriginal History WA team – They Served with Honour and No Less Worthy.
They Served with Honour tells the stories of 13 Western Australian Aboriginal servicemen who served at Gallipoli. https://ow.ly/lZ5E50RmQrR
No Less Worthy recognises the contributions of the known Western Australian Aboriginal men who served in the First World War. https://ow.ly/gJxe50RmQrM
