🌟 Dinghy Presentation Dinner Success! 🌟
Last Saturday night was a fantastic celebration of a big year on the water for our Dinghy Division! 🏆⛵️

Congratulations to all our sailors on their achievements and milestones — it’s been another successful season full of hard work, fun, and great racing. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the evening (and the year) such a success.

Here’s to an even bigger season ahead! 👏🎉

⛵️ HYC Member Spotlight – Robyn Tutty Shines at MOFSC Easter Regatta! 🌟

A huge congratulations to Robyn Tutty, who proudly represented Hillarys Yacht Club over the weekend at the MOFSC Easter Regatta! 🏆

Robyn sailed in the ILCA 6 class for the very first time and absolutely smashed it – taking out 1st place in the Consistency Championship! 🎉👏

With over 50 boats from clubs across Perth and regional WA, it was a fantastic and competitive regatta – and Robyn did us proud!
Well done Robyn – we can’t wait to see what you do next! 💙⛵️

The Hillarys Yacht Club Dinghy Division is excited to announce that we've secured a "Local Matters Jar" at Grill’d in Hillarys Boat Harbour for December!

We encourage all Members to visit Grill’d this month and use their votes to support the Dinghy Division. Don’t forget to spread the word to friends and family!

Funds raised will help support Robyn Tutty on her journey to compete in the ILCA National Championships in Brisbane, January 2025. Thank you for your support!

It is unequivocal that sportsmanship is a vital ingredient to a happy and healthy sports culture for participants and their supporters to enjoy and benefit from. In WAIODA, we have a deliberate focus on fostering sportsmanship early in a sailors journey. We are playing our role in driving a sound sportsmanship culture well knowing that a healthy culture drives participation and, in turn, performance.

This is why WAIODA recognises and celebrates sportsmanship as the premier award at our events including the recent 2024 WAIODA Optimist State Championship:

Leo Boterhaven de Haan from Hillarys Yacht Club was the perfect example of sportsmanship during the regatta. He was always keen to help his fellow sailors launch and retrieve their boats on the ramp, plus showed fantastic manners to sailors and volunteers both on and off the water.

We had six sailors at the Opti States this weekend, which is a fantastic representation of HYC. The sailors all gave it their best in some very challenging winds.
