🫶KMR is for everyone. We’re proud to be both SheRunner and SheRACES accredited, recognising our long-standing commitment to creating inclusive events where women feel welcome, comfortable, supported and safe.
It’s about the things we do to help make trail running more accessible, and to help more women feel confident stepping onto the start line. Things like:
🤰 Pregnancy support
Because starting or growing a family doesn’t always match a race schedule. Women who are, or fall pregnant, prior to race day are able to defer their entry for up to three years and partners will also be able to defer for one if the birth is imminent.
🚻 Female-friendly facilities
Toilets including sanitary items at toilets across the course and RunHub, and private changing facilities wherever possible across our events.
🚑 Safety & support
Course marshals, medical support and safety teams helping you feel supported out on the trails. Equitable cut-offs that reflect gender differences. Allocated space for women at the startlines.
📣 Representation matters
We want women to see themselves across KMR: from first-timers and run-walkers to experienced runners and front-runners.
🍃Bush Play (Kids Drop off)
We partner with , who provide Bush Play (Kids drop-off) on Saturday and Sunday. Kids aged 5-12 can be dropped off at Bush Play at the RunHub, so that while you play on Kunanyi, they play and explore nature too; all under expert supervision! We're able to offer this as a FREE service thanks to the support of the legends at . Bookings required and spots are limited.
🍼 Family Spaces
A small space for breastfeeding, nappy changes, or just a quiet space that’s away from the busy-ness and noise of the RunHub.
🗺Know what to expect
Clear course, elevation and event information so you can prepare with confidence.
We know there are still barriers that can make trail running feel less accessible to women. We’ll keep working to remove them🌿
