Whilst we will email all members before Saturday, here is a summary of the things to take into account for the first round of interclub on Saturday.
Just remember, registrations have been open for a number of weeks, please don't leave it until Saturday in the car park, as this may delay your entry.
Athletics South’s Track and Field Season kicks off this Saturday, with Round 1 of Interclub commencing at 1pm.
Here’s a few things you need today know if you are planning on competing:
1. You will need to be registered with your club of choice. See our website for details of the options available:
https://www.athleticssouth.org.au/our-clubs
2. Your registration number will be available from your Club. You will need this in order to enter events and you will need to wear it when competing. It helps immensely if you register before Saturday, so don’t leave it until the last minute.
3. You will need your registration number for the whole season. Don’t throw it out after Round One!
4. The season calendar and program of events is available on the AS website:

Noting that we are going to have to be a bit flexible this year due to the track being resurfaced in November. However, there will still be a full season of Interclub competition, with some meets held at Clarence High School whilst the DAC is out of action.
4. Entries for events need to be in no later than 30 minutes prior to the advertised start time. Give yourself plenty of time to collect your registration number and lodge your entry.
5. Track events are seeded in accordance with your estimated entry time. In theory, this means that there will be runners of a similar standard in your race. If you don’t enter an estimated time, you will automatically be placed in the last (and slowest) heat.
6. Go to your event about 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Officials will confirm that you are present and provide you with details of your lane draw or the order of competition.
7. Relay entries are done through your Club.
8. The whole meet is run by volunteers. Make yourself known at the respective event sites if you are able to help out (NB you will need a WWVP Card).
9. A word of thanks for the volunteer officials is always appreciated.
10. Enjoy the moment. Interclub is not the Olympics and the emphasis is on personal achievement, social interaction and having fun.
