“The Pathway to excellence” for all ages, families, and fitness with purpose as we journey together.

JKA Karate is one of the most dynamic of all the martial arts. A trained karateka is able to co-ordinate mind and body perfectly, thereby allowing the unleashing of tremendous physical power at will. Therefore, it is not the possession of great physical strength that makes a strong karateka; rather, it is the ability to co-ordinate mind and body. Say hello to Valentina,
Our Student of the Month.
Valentina followed her brother into Karate and has been watching from the side lines waiting until she turned 4.
Even though she is shy and sometimes scared, Valentina joins in on the mats. Sensei David is particularly impressed with the way Valentina pays attention and corrects herself. This shows us that Valentina embodies the Develop Self Control rule in the Dojo Kun.
Well Done Valentina

With SA Dental week upon us, we would like to remind our students:

• Wear a custom-fitted mouth guard every time. It is the best way to protect your teeth and prevent injury.
Your mouth guard is an essential part of your kit. Do not train without it.
• Dental injuries are one of the most common sports injuries. Protect yourself with simple prevention.
• Look after your smile and support your peers to do the same.
• Choose water to fuel your performance. Sports and energy drinks can damage your teeth faster than sugar alone because they are high in acid and sugar.
• Stay hydrated with water. It supports both performance and oral health.

Monday Heian Shodan Tuesday Heian Nidan and so on … this was Wood Sensei’s advice for mental and physical health and improving technique…and for all students whether attempting Kyu or Dan gradings or selections for National Squad… ‘you can’t fatten the pig on market day,
