Presentation Day saw the introduction of a new perpetual award at HVJFC, The Michael Johnson Club Spirit Award, recognising outstanding service and contribution to our Club.
It was only fitting that the inaugural recipient was the person the award is named after, Michael Johnson.
For more than 20 years, Michael has dedicated his time to Hope Valley through coaching, committee involvement and as our wonderful Auskick Coordinator. He has created a welcoming, fun and supportive environment where hundreds of children have taken their first steps into AFL and developed a love for the game.
It is his selfless dedication, reliability and genuine passion that has made a lasting impact on countless families and our Club, and the exact reason that this award has been named in his honour.
On Sunday, Michael was presented as the inaugural recipient of the Club Spirit Award by Marijka Ryan, City of Tea Tree Gully Mayor, and HVJFC President, Lisa Keenihan. Michael was joined by his wife Mary, and son Nathan, who have also both been a huge support to him with his involvement at our Club.
Congratulations and thank you Michael for your outstanding contribution to HVJFC. Your impact on our Club and players is immeasurable.
