Family friendly Adelaide dojo founded by Carl Withey Sensei. Pre-modern Aikido & Atemi-ryu Jujitsu

Kyushin-Ryu Australia is a family owned and operated martial arts club based in Adelaide, South Australia. The styles include elements of Aikido, Hoshiyama-Ryu Jujitsu and Aiki Jutsu. We focus strongly on providing a realistic and street smart way for all ages to defend themselves in today’s world. The martial arts we teach provide an all-round self defence system that can be used in situations that learning any one style will not cover.

Being kind and true to yourself is never a mistake, even if others fail to appreciate it. Your actions define your character, and their response reflects their own. Continue choosing kindness—it builds strength and reveals who genuinely values you 🌟

That means we can announce the 16 combatants for this year's Golden Saber Tournament. This year promises to be a really exciting event with participants possessing a wide range of skills and experience, from backgrounds including Kenjutsu, Kendo, Wushu, Fencing, HEMA, Saber & more.

Like last year's tournament, we will be using the double elimination format which means all fighters will need to lose twice before being eliminated.

This event is open to the public! Just come to the John McVeity Centre on the 21st of September and cheer on your favourite fighters! Games start from 10am with the event concluding at 4pm.
