WEEKEND of highs and lows, with some great interstate-level exposure on home soil and plenty of valuable lessons for our fight team.
Over the weekend, fighters were put to the test. Some rose to the challenge, while others fell short of the results they were chasing. But as always, the results only tell part of the story. Every time we step onto the mats, we have an opportunity to learn, grow & come back better.
Saturday our Black Belt fighters Archie, Keira, Kiarra, Jesse & Pizazz took on the Pathways competition. We didnβt get the results we wanted, but we got the experience we needed! We will continue to push ourselves, learn from the difficult moments & keep working towards the level we know this team is capable of reaching.
Sunday saw the first MELBOURNE OPEN event, with some of our more experienced fighters Keira, Kiarra, Pizazz & Amity getting valuable mat time; refining their skills & continuing to develop their competition game. We also had four of our newest fighters Martin, Marcus, Aashif & Vivaan step onto the competition mats for the very first time. Each giving it everything they had; putting on great performances with absolute courage & determination. Most importantly, they walked away with invaluable experience that will drive them to come back stronger.
What stood out just as much as the performances on the mats was the support around them. Parents giving up their weekend, teammates supporting each other between fights, and even team members who werenβt competing coming down to support, encourage and help their teammates over the weekend.
That is what makes this more than just a group of fighters. We are a team π§‘π We win together, we fall short together, and most importantly, we grow together!
Plenty to be proud of and plenty to work on.
Massive thanks to our passionate lead coach Taner & Jerry for taking such amazing care of the squad π
