Every champion starts with a lesson. 🏆

At Horsham Aquatic Centre, children take their first strokes in learn-to-swim programs, build confidence in development squads, and can progress into the Horsham Sharks Swimming Club where new opportunities await.

From local competitions to state championships and beyond, the pathway helps Wimmera swimmers realise their potential without losing their connection to home.

🌊 First Splash → Learn to Swim → Squad Development → Horsham Sharks → Future Opportunities

Because where you begin doesn't have to limit where you can go. 💙

On the final day of Women’s Health Week, we’re celebrating the power of human connection in all its forms. Today is all about the small steps to finding connection – the voice message to a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while, the community group you’ve been meaning to try or the coffee with a neighbour.

Research tells us that social connection has lasting impacts on our physical and mental health – helping you to live longer, build resilience and feel more confident. And yet, for many of us, connection is something that quietly falls to the bottom of the list. Busy schedules, distance, changing life stages, caring for others, cultural factors and disability – all of these can make staying connected more difficult.

Today, we’re exploring what real, healthy connection looks like – how to achieve and nurture it, even when you’re short on time or energy. Whether you’re someone who’s been feeling isolated, or someone who wants to help others feel less alone, today’s conversations are for you.

If you feel like something’s not quite the same with a friend – there’s something going on in their life or you notice a change in what they’re doing or saying - trust that gut instinct and take the time to ask them, 'are you OK?'

When someone is struggling it can be hard to speak up and ask for help. By acting as ‘eyes and ears’ and reaching out to anyone who's going through a tough time we can show them they’re supported and encourage them to access help sooner.

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. That’s why Day 4 of Women’s Health Week is all about mental wellbeing, and the many things that can shape how you might feel across your life.

Hormonal changes, life stages, carrying more than your share – it’s a lot. And yet, these things are often overlooked or downplayed. It can be hard to recognise when you’re struggling, overwhelmed or feeling disconnected from yourself.

Today is about acknowledging those experiences without judgement and remembering that mental health deserves attention and care, just like your physical health.

We’ll explore practical steps to support your wellbeing, as well as guidance on when it might be time to speak to a health professional and how to start that conversation.

Looking for a post workout snack?

We have fresh fruit available for a gold coin donation to help raise money for Open Doors.

Everyone deserves the chance to be active, learn new skills and feel part of a community. Sadly, this is not the case for many in our communities experiencing disadvantage. Many can’t afford it right now.

The Y Open Doors steps in to subsidise access to our programs so children, young people, adults and seniors can join in safely and confidently.

Your support funds lessons that build water confidence, programs that support health and independence, and the opportunity to spend time in welcoming places where people connect.

If you can help, a donation today goes straight to opening a door for someone in your local area.
