This is a post I’ve been putting off for a very long time 😩
Due to the cost of everything going up, especially the cost of Diesel, GST etc, I’m forced to put my prices up. I’ve tried my best to absorb the Diesel costs etc, but it’s not making my business viable.
Thankyou to my clients that have kept pushing me to make these changes. I want to be able to keep helping as many people as I can and I appreciate each and every one of you ❤️
These new prices will take effect from Monday 26th, 2026.
$100 per hour (travelling to you)
$90 per hour (you coming here using my horse)
$80 per hour (you coming here using your horse)
These prices include GST

WHY SPANISH WALK???
1.) it’s quite easy to teach. And if you’ve never done any “trick training” or shaping behaviors through positive reinforcement, this is a fabulous place to start!
2.) It really teaches the human good timing. Once you start putting this into forward movement (whether on the ground or under saddle) you really have to be able to predict the horse’s movement, and time accordingly.
3.) Holy s**t does it open up the shoulders!! And not just flexibility but actual range to motion.
4.) it’s biomechanically fabulous for the horse, and strengthens and stretches them in many ways while also being totally safe for horses that have quite an array of injuries
5.) DIAGONAL BALANCE! A finished Spanish Walk is a diagonal movement, and the horses really learned to utilize their core muscles to achieve this balance.
6.) If you are constantly fighting to mentally deconstruct after years of exposure to modern dressage(🙋‍♀️🥴), and being taught that lowering the neck lifts the back (it doesn’t) the Spanish Walk is a fast track to seeing and believing that lifting the front IS GOOD and directly helps the horse to squat behind and LIFT the thoracic sling.

BTW- Equus Salutis is running a 2 week Spanish Walk Course STARTING TODAY (I know, I know- I should have posted this a week ago!)

This is a great explanation!

I know this is not a horse but if you are looking for a real life “Bird Whisperer “ then Dani is your Gal ❤️
She has an amazing way with our feathered friends and provides a variety of services for them, beak and nail trims etc.
My old boy Cocky doesn’t like females, but he hears Dani coming and starts his repertoire!

🐎 What is Working Equitation? 🐎

Many people have heard of dressage, jumping or trail riding, but fewer have discovered the exciting world of Working Equitation.

Working Equitation is a discipline that combines horsemanship, partnership, obstacle skills and rider development. It is designed to improve communication between horse and rider while building confidence, responsiveness and trust.

One of the things we love most about Working Equitation is that it is suitable for almost every horse and rider combination. Whether you ride for pleasure, want to improve your horse's confidence, or are interested in competition, Working Equitation offers a fun and rewarding way to develop new skills.

Typical obstacles may include:
✔ Gates
✔ Bridges
✔ Poles
✔ Side passing
✔ Tight turns
✔ Backing through obstacles

These challenges help horses become more confident and responsive while helping riders improve their timing, balance and communication.

At Harmony N Horsemanship, we believe Working Equitation is about much more than navigating obstacles. It is about developing a true partnership between horse and rider built on trust, understanding and clear communication.

Interested in learning more about Working Equitation or giving it a try?

We'd love to hear from you.

Sometimes we loose things we e previously taught after teaching other things.
Saige had quite a good backup but today decided it wasn’t her choice and got her feet stuck a few times.
This is video number 1
Compare to video 3 where I didn’t have to use my hands

This gorgeous girl is Saige. She is a lovely Gypsy Cob bred by Yvette.
She had 3 rides previous to coming to me so came to get some education and buttons put on.
This is still only ride number 8.
This week, she learnt to move hinds, as you can see she is very soft and I’m hardly using my leg at all.
She’s actually a very sensitive girl and tries so hard to please.
