Hilltop Hike of the Huon Valley is a community-led mental health and su***de prevention initiative bringing people together through an annual walk/run, fundraising and awareness activities. Since its inception, Hilltop Hike has raised more than $200,000 for local mental health, wellbeing and community support services, including over $60,000 this year for the Huon Valley PCYC After-School Drop-In Program. Supported by local volunteers, businesses and community ambassadors, the initiative creates a visible, hopeful way to remember loved ones, start conversations and reduce stigma, while ensuring funds raised directly strengthen services within the Huon Valley.

Sadly, we have finally come to the end of our Parents and Carers Club program for Term 3. 🥹💛

A massive thank you to the Alcohol and Drug Foundation for funding this amazing program over the last few years. The connections, friendships and memories that have been formed have been truly magical.

Over the last 12 months, we’ve enjoyed face painting, balloons, lots of soft play and, of course, so much fun playing with Heidi! 😂💛

We would absolutely love to keep this amazing program going into Term 4, so on the 20th of October, we’d love to welcome you all back for a FREE play session and hot drink! ☕️✨

Please note, Heidi’s amazing platters won’t be making an appearance this time 😂, but we encourage you to bring along some snacks to enjoy.

We’d love to see you there and keep these beautiful connections going! 💛

Come & Try Netball Clinic 💚💙

Curious about netball? Come and give it a go!

Huon Valley Netball Association is inviting boys and girls born between 2016 and 2020 to join us for a fun, FREE Come & Try Netball Clinic.

Whether your child has never picked up a netball before, has played at school, or is already keen to build their skills, this clinic is all about having a go in a fun, welcoming and supportive environment.

💚 Build confidence
🤝 Meet new friends and future teammates
⭐ Have fun and experience what netball is all about!

The clinic will be led by HVNA Head Coach Jessica Luciani, supported by members of our coaching team. Jess is an Intermediate accredited coach with more than 15 years of coaching experience, including several years involved in the State Netball Coaching Program. This season, Jess coached our U11 Division 1 Premiership team as well as Premier League, and she has a real passion for helping young players develop their skills, confidence and love of the game.

Thinking about playing netball in 2027?

This is the perfect opportunity to come and try before our club tryouts in November. There is absolutely no expectation that children already know how to play — beginners are very welcome!

Come along, meet some of our coaches, get a feel for the game and see whether netball might be the sport for your child.

🎨 ART MAKING WITH BEL AT DROP-IN-CENTRE!

We’ve got something new happening at our Wednesday Drop-In Centre! 🖌️✨

Meet Bel, who is completing her university placement in art therapy with us at Huon Valley PCYC!

Every Wednesday afternoon, Bel will have a range of art materials set up for young people to explore and get creative with. Whether it’s drawing, painting, playing with clay or trying something completely different, it’s all about having fun and creating freely. 🎨

Art can also be a great way to relax, express yourself and work through big emotions or changes in your life. 💙

WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK AT HUON VALLEY PCYC 💙

There’s plenty happening around the Centre this week and apparently Powerforce is attracting participants from all walks of life… even sharks! 🦈😂

🏋️ POWERFORCE – THURSDAY
We had a very eager new participant stop by to sign up for Powerforce! 😂

Powerforce is our FREE 10-week program for young people aged 12–25, designed to encourage confidence, wellbeing, physical activity and connection.

And the best part? Participants who complete the program receive a 12-month Huon Valley PCYC membership, as well as their own Powerforce bag and drink bottle! 💪

Anyone aged 12–25 can join, so if you or someone you know would be interested, get in touch with us for more information or to register for an upcoming program. 🦈

🎨 YOUTH DROP IN CENTRE – MONDAY & WEDNESDAY | 3–5PM
Our free Drop-In Centre is open again this week for young people aged 6–18!

And on Wednesday, you can also get creative with Bel, who will have art materials and activities set up from 3–5pm as part of her university art therapy placement with us. No booking needed – just drop in!

☕🎨 Seniors Creative & Social Sessions at Huon Valley PCYC!

We’re excited to be offering a new FREE drop-in space for seniors in the Huon Valley to come together, meet new people and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of creativity and connection. 💙

Starting Wednesday 23 September from 12pm, come along for a free coffee, a chat and some optional creative wellbeing activities.

🧶 Bring along your own creative project if you have one – knitting, drawing, writing or anything you enjoy

💪 POWERFORCE AT HUON VALLEY PCYC! 💪

Powerforce is our 10-week school term program designed to support young people to get active, build confidence and feel more comfortable in the gym. 🏋️

Throughout the 10 weeks, participants learn how to use gym equipment safely, build healthy habits and work towards their own goals in a supportive environment.

🎨 A little creativity with Funbox! 💛

Our Parents & Carers Club recently had the chance to try out some awesome craft activities kindly provided by Funbox Activities and they were a hit! 🙌

The kids loved getting creative making and decorating their own masks, and it was great to see an activity that worked so well across different ages. 🎭✨

A big thank you to Funbox Activities for sending these goodies our way and giving our families something fun to enjoy together!
