Tight competition for 1st place and even tighter in 3rd with 2nd being a hot spot to compete for!
Variables such as count backs will come into play in the event of tied positions.

2026 IGFC PRESIDENTS RECAP

This year we at the IGFC hosted 24 boats in our annual game fishing tournament.
Consisting of some 60 male anglers, 10 Female anglers and a brilliant group of 8 juniors. These teams travelled from as far south as the Whitsundays and as North as Port Douglas.

The weather Gods were kind, and the raft up was spectacular as ever. As a President, hosting and competing in this event, it is a very pleasant sight to be welcomed to our wharf each afternoon by so many loyal locals and supporters. This year we remember our past members, Rod Collins and Peter Williamson. It was an emotional 3 days for a lot of us.
Over the 3 days of fishing we managed to Tag and Release around 25 Billfish, form new friendships and realise there are still some beautiful people left in this world.

🎣 THAT’S A WRAP! 🎣

Well guys, that’s a wrap for the 2026 Rod Collins Memorial Challenge!

What a cracker 3 days on the water, with 24 boat nominations and plenty of great fishing, laughs and memories along the way. 🎣🌊

A very special thank you to the Collins family for joining us and fishing the tournament. It’s always an honour to have you there and to continue celebrating Rod’s memory through an event that brings everyone together doing what he loved. ❤️

A massive thank you to Vince Sofia for capturing all the action and providing some awesome media footage throughout the tournament. 📸🎥

And we definitely didn’t go hungry! A huge thanks to Milva from Mourilyan Bakery for the amazing food, Ben Heath for the fish and chips, and Roscoes for the pizzas and our presentation dinners. 🍕🐟
