G’day everyone! 👋

We recently caught up with Laura Perrett, who is set to represent NSW at an upcoming tournament in Adelaide! 🏑💙

Laura was the only player selected from the Northern NSW region, which is an incredible achievement and something she should be extremely proud of.

Having played hockey since she was just 5 years old, Laura has developed a real passion for the game and continues to represent the Inverell hockey community with plenty of pride. During our chat, we also spoke about her hopes of helping grow the sport locally and get more people involved in hockey.

With numbers dropping a little this year, Laura is keen to help boost participation and encourage more young people and families around the Inverell community to give hockey a go. It’s great to see someone like Laura not only chasing her own sporting goals but also wanting to give back and help grow the game she loves.

A huge congratulations to Laura on her selection and we wish her all the very best as she heads to Adelaide to represent NSW! 👏🏑

I caught up with some of the key people behind Inverell FC to chat about the club, their involvement and everything happening on and off the field.

James Sweeney has been President of Inverell FC since 2020, while Warwick has been involved with the club for many years and has been on the committee since 2022. Both Wok and Sweeney are also heavily involved on the coaching side, coaching the First and Second Grade sides and helping guide the players throughout the season.

I also caught up with Mick Migheli, who has been involved with Inverell FC for more than 50 years. With an incredible amount of experience and knowledge of the club, Mick has seen plenty of changes throughout the years and is now continuing to give back as the First Grade Women’s coach.

We had a great chat about their journeys with Inverell FC, coaching, the importance of getting involved in local sport, and what the future looks like.

Another great insight into the people who put so much time and effort into keeping local sport going. ⚽️👏

I recently caught up with Inverell RSM Hawks Ladies League Tag coach Billy Thom to chat about why he took on the coaching role and to preview this weekend’s Ladies Day clash against Uralla.

I also had the chance to sit down with the team’s captain Kearni Reynolds and vice-captain Stacey Rogers, where we spoke about what Ladies Day means to the club, the upcoming game against Uralla, this year’s major sponsors, and the important cause they’re raising money for.

🎙️Episode 4 Kearni Reynolds 🏉

In Episode 4 of Link Up With Logan, we catch up with one of the region’s most accomplished and respected female athletes, Kearni.

Kearni’s sporting journey began before she can remember. Back in 2009 she started playing league tag for the Warialda Wombats in the inaugural Group 19 women’s competition. From there, her career continued to grow, spending over a decade with the Wombats before a season with the Hawks in 2015 and later playing AFL with the Inverell Saints in 2020 and 2021.

While studying at university, Kearni never slowed down, competing in rugby, AFL, league tag, and even a season of gridiron. Her rugby career has been outstanding, starting at just 13 years old and playing in the Opens competition throughout high school. She earned NSW Country representative honours from 2012 to 2014, captained Central North representative teams in both 15s and 7s rugby, and attended the 2014 Australian Women’s Sevens Talent ID camp in Noosa following rugby sevens being added to the Rio Olympics. There, she trained and played alongside future Olympic gold medallist Alicia Quirk and many other players who went on to represent Australia.

Kearni was also selected in the 2015 Australian Universities Rugby 7’s Merit Team and in 2017 competed for the University of New England in the AON National University Championships alongside and against several of the 2016 Olympic gold medallists.

Today, Kearni continues to make her mark in local sport. She is the current captain of the Inverell Hawkettes league tag side, leading by example as they sit on top of the competition ladder. She also competes in Oztag at both state and national championships for Tamworth.

This episode is all about dedication, leadership, and a lifelong passion for sport. Kearni shares the highs of her incredible journey, what drives her competitive nature, and why helping her teammates become the best they can be is just as important as winning.

Here’s a quick video from an awesome day at the Inverell Saints as the club celebrated Ladies Day and the Kevin Pay Memorial Day.

It was fantastic to see such a great crowd come together to celebrate the occasion, support the club, and enjoy two brilliant wins. The women’s team put on a dominant display, while the men’s side kept everyone on the edge of their seats with a thrilling victory.

Days like these show what local sport is all about—bringing the community together, honouring those who have made a lasting impact on the club, and creating memories both on and off the field.

Congratulations to everyone involved on making it such a successful day, and thanks for having us along to capture a small part of it. 🖤🤍❤️

Gday Everyone
Yesterday I headed down to the Inverell Saints for a special day celebrating both Ladies Day and the Kevin Pay Memorial Day.

I had the chance to catch up with Inverell Saints Women’s captain Claire McCosker, who has been with the women’s side since the team was established in 2017, and Inverell Saints Men’s coach and current player Hayden Chappel.

We chatted about both matches, with the women putting on a dominant performance to come away with a huge 115–2 victory, while the men fought out a thrilling nail-biter to claim a hard-earned 65–61 win.

We also spoke about the importance of Ladies Day, the significance of the Kevin Pay Memorial Day, and the lasting impact Kevin has had on the Saints community and club.

Congratulations to both Saints teams on fantastic wins, and all the best for the rest of the season. Thanks to Claire and Hayden for taking the time to talk to me!!!!!

For Episode 3, we sat down with Jaimie McCormack — a coach with over 40 years of experience in the game and someone who has helped shape players and teams at multiple levels.

Jaimie spent 16 years involved in the Gold Coast Titans coaching system, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience and understanding of what it takes to build successful teams and strong club culture.

We also talk about his current role with the Inverell RSM Hawks A Grade side, who are chasing a back-to-back premiership and are putting together another strong season.

In this episode we chat about his coaching journey, lessons learnt across four decades in rugby league, what makes a successful team, developing players, and what it means to coach in country footy.

Today we caught up with Glenn Anderson and had a great chat about the world of Metallic Silhouette Shooting — what the sport is all about, how it works, and what it takes to compete at the highest level.

Glenn also shared his incredible journey in the sport and told us about representing Australia for an unbelievable 10 consecutive years. 🇦🇺

With another huge opportunity ahead, Glenn is heading to Finland at the start of July to once again wear the green and gold and compete on the international stage. We spoke about the dedication, training, commitment and passion it takes to stay at that elite level year after year.

A massive achievement and something our community should be proud of — we wish Glenn and the Australian Metallic Silhouette Team all the best in Finland!!!!!

We caught up with Ethan Anderson from the Inverell RSM Hawks (Seniors), who has been leading the club as President since 2024. We had a great chat about the upcoming important dates for the club, including Sponsors Day on the 11th of July against the Barraba Bulldogs and Ladies Day against the Uralla Tigers.

We also talked about the incredible season the Hawks are having so far, with Reserve Grade, Ladies League Tag and A Grade all remaining undefeated and building strong momentum heading towards the back end of the season and hopefully into finals football.

For Episode 2 of Link Up with Logan, I sat down with Jaimie Pay for a great chat about everything happening around the Inverell Saints and the upcoming Ladies Day.

We talked about the growth of the women’s game and how much it has evolved since the Saints women’s side first started back in 2017. Jaimie shared her experiences being involved through that journey and seeing the opportunities continue to grow for women in AFL.

We also spoke about the impact her pop, Kevin Pay, has had on the Inverell Saints club and the legacy and support he has brought to the community over the years.
