The tournament has grown annually and this year will be no different Teams or players from different parts of Australia and teams from Germany, New Zealand, and Tonga have participated in this unique tournament over the last 12 years. The most exciting part besides playing in a fantastic football tournament are the rewards for players and coaches! There are 4 prizes, one in each of the age groups of the U14s, U16s, U19s, and the Open Women. In these age groups, the best field player will win a 25 day trip to Germany worth $7800 on a playing and coaching tour with the Joeys All-Stars Team. All teams are guaranteed 8 games, and each player is given a full playing strip including a shirt, socks, and shorts plus a cup T-shirt and a back-sack. The manager and the coach of each team receive a Lismore Joeys Mini World Cup jacket. Prizes and merchandise of over $70000 are given out, making this a tournament unique in Australia, and around the world! As a part of this, there is the chance for 24 male players from the combined age divisions U14s up to the U19s to receive a $1000 subsidy to be part of the Joeys All-Star team to travel Germany the following year for 25-days of coaching and playing football while on tour. The same will apply to 16 female players from the Open Women section. In addition to this 5 coaches will this year receive a $2800 subsidy to join the tour and receive training and advice from some of the best coaches in the German Football Youth system.
