Learnt a BIG lesson in class this morning 💚
Had planned and practiced a class with a theme of aparigraha - letting go of Winter and welcoming in spring …. All was going to plan, we’d warmed and moved our bodies, found gratitude for all winter brought us, shared hope for what spring would bring ….. settled down with some nourishing music into Savasana …. And the blue tooth speaker had a mind of its own and started playing the podcast I had been listening to!!
Totally destroying the moment!
But, rather than spiralling, we all had a giggle, took a deep breath and LET IT GO 💚
Practising Aparigraha in real time!thanks to the awesome RISE crew just for being you xx

Happy International Dog Day to my boys, and all the dogs everywhere - who live their lives as only the best of Yogis do. They have been my most favourite mat companions.
We could all learn a little about ahimsa from dogs 💚💚

For months now, I’ve been getting up in the dark for our 5:45am RISE classes in Ipswich City.
There have been mornings when it has been very, very cold, very, very dark and very, very early!
Mornings when I’ve wondered whether people would actually get out of bed and come and practice with me.
Honestly, there have been weeks when the numbers have been hard.
I know how difficult it can be to leave a warm bed at 5am. I know life is busy. I know winter makes it even harder.
But here’s the thing…
I love these mornings 💚
I love the quietness of practicing as the world is still waking up.
I love watching the first light arrive through the windows (so beautiful)
I love the little community that has formed around these early mornings.
And I love that we begin the day by choosing to pause, breathe, move and come back to ourselves.
Now, as we begin to feel the first little signs of spring, I’m feeling hopeful.
If you’ve been thinking about coming to RISE… this is your invitation.
You don’t need to be flexible.
You don’t need to be experienced.
You don’t need to know what you’re doing.
Come once. Come regularly. Bring a friend. Tell someone about the class. Share this post and let others know if that feels right for you.
Every person who rolls out their mat helps make these beautiful early mornings sustainable.
And perhaps this spring can be about more than just the season changing -
Perhaps it can be about rising together (see what I did there 😏)
I’d love to see you on the mat. 🤍

There is something special that forms when a group of strangers come together regularly to practice Yoga asana together.
A quiet togetherness begins.
It shows up differently for different people- sometimes a chat and a giggle before class, sometimes a quiet hug goodbye, sometimes just the comfort of someone practicing alongside you.
I could not be more grateful for the people who turn up to class and help create this glorious little community we have.
thank you from me, and thank you from the people you roll out a mat next to - however you choose to be a part of our community- I thank you 💚💚💚
