STATEMENT FROM THE IPSWICH JETS RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB

The Ipswich Jets are aware of a media report in circulation, regarding an alleged proposal by select Queensland clubs to break away from the QRL and form a rival competition.

The Jets want to be very clear on our position. Contrary to what has been reported, this club has had no involvement in any such discussions, has not been approached about any breakaway proposal, and has not indicated support for this concept in any way.

The Ipswich Jets are fully committed to our relationship with the QRL and to competing in the Hostplus Cup under our competition agreement. Our obligations to our stakeholders, to the game, and to the communities we serve across the Ipswich region are not something we take lightly.

We note that QRL Chair Brian Canavan has responded publicly to this matter today and the Jets stand with the governing body on this issue.
