We said goodbye to a great man and great mate today, a man who has given us the precious gift of remembering our sporting achievements in the thousands of photos of us winning, losing, falling down and getting up, and most of all having fun. In 2024, Colin was the recipient of the "Motorcycling Queensland Lifetime Achievement Award". We will miss you mate, and to quote Colin, we will all "Keep a smile on our dials" when we look through your photos.

Big news for Cooper!
Cooper Archibald, 17, Secures Historic 2026 Australian Dirt Track Championship and Duke of Edinburgh Award
Seventeen-year-old Cooper Archibald has achieved a remarkable dual milestone, becoming one of the youngest competitors to win the 2026 Australian Dirt Track Championship while also being honoured with the Duke of Edinburgh Award. In a fitting twist to an already historic day, Archibald claimed the national championship on his 17th birthday, adding personal significance to a career-defining achievement. The championship event was hosted by the ACT Motorcycle Club, drawing top riders from across the country.
Archibald’s championship victory marks the first Australian Championship ever won aboard the Ducati Desmo 450, representing a significant moment for both the rider and the manufacturer. His disciplined approach, technical skill, and consistency throughout the event distinguished him as a standout competitor in a highly contested field.
Having recently stepped into the senior ranks, Archibald has carried forward the momentum of an exceptional junior career. As a two-time champion in the Australian Flat Track Nationals Championship in the Junior Lites class, he established himself early as one of the country’s most formidable young talents. His junior résumé also includes being crowned Australian Champion in the 85cc class in 2022, further demonstrating the depth of his skill and competitiveness. His seamless transition into senior competition—culminating in a national championship on the day he turned 17—highlights both his maturity as a rider and his capacity to perform under increasing competitive pressure.
These accomplishments collectively position Archibald as one of Australia’s most promising young athletes, with a trajectory that continues to attract national attention.

Round 4 of the ProMX Motocross Championship will be held at Echo Valley on Sunday, 24 May, and we are seeking volunteers to support the delivery of this event.
Volunteers are essential across a range of areas, including flag marshals, canteen operations, event and spectator assistance, parking, and general support. Your involvement helps ensure a safe, professional and enjoyable experience for competitors, officials and spectators.
We will be holding two working bees:
• This Saturday, commencing at 8:00 am
• Saturday, 16 May
The small group who have been supporting preparations to date cannot do this alone, and additional assistance would be greatly appreciated.
If you are available to help at the working bees and/or the ProMX round, please reply to this email and advise your availability. Further details will be provided and shared via our social channels.
Thank you for your continued support of the club and Australian motocross ✊
Please contact Tim Bach President, 0493 551 719.
