🏏 GRAND FINAL RECAP 🏏

What a way to finish an incredible tournament! The Abusement Parks went down to Blowing Bubbles in a cracking grand final full of big hits, great bowling, and unforgettable moments.

Batting first, we posted a strong total led by Will Robinson’s classy 50 not out, with support from Turtle (28 off 18) and Harley (24 off 16). The boys kept the runs flowing and set up a grandstand finish.

With ball in hand, there were plenty of highlights, none bigger than Anda β€œAce” Tylana taking his 100th career wicket with a spectacular caught and bowled – a milestone that will live long in the memory.
Turtle was outstanding again with 2/16, and the whole side fought right until the end.

In the end, Blowing Bubbles were too strong thanks to some powerhouse hitting, but we couldn’t be prouder of the effort, the spirit, and the fight shown by our team.

A huge THANK YOU to our supporters here at the ground, and who have played all throughout the season, you’ve been with us every step of the way and we felt the energy! πŸ§‘πŸ–€

This tournament has been one to remember. Until next time… The Abusement Parks roll on 🎒πŸ”₯

Our final game of the tournament saw us come up against strong Blue Tigers Team, and despite our efforts with both bat and ball, we went down by 58 runs.

With the ball, Craig β€œTurtle” Purton was the standout, claiming 3 wickets for just 23 runs, including a maiden over. Ryan Barram kept things tight with an economy of 7.33, while Alex Featherstone and Will Robinson also picked up wickets to keep us fighting.

In the chase, Will Robinson top-scored with 37 runs, while Ryan Barram finished unbeaten on 35 off 23, showing real intent at the back end. Andy Levett also provided fireworks with 13 from just 5 balls at a strike rate of 260.

Although we fell short, this tournament has been an incredible journey. A huge thank you to our supporters here in Chester Tamzyn, Ayden, Kaden, and Jack and around the world who have cheered us on every step of the way. Your messages, energy, and passion have lifted the team throughout this campaign.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together and look forward to what ever is next. πŸ’―πŸ’₯πŸ’£

🚨 WHAT. A. GAME. 🚨

The Abusement Parks have just pulled off their first ever win at the World Championships – and they did it in the most dramatic fashion imaginable!

After an incredible tie at 172-all, it all came down to a Super Over. Up stepped Ryan Barram, who absolutely smoked a home run πŸ’₯ while Andy Levett held his nerve with 2 clutch wickets to seal history. πŸ†

But let’s not forget the turning point – Thomas Hall’s game-changing fielding in the last over of the innings, keeping the Parks alive when it mattered most.

⚑ Will Robinson’s 48 (27) and Hall’s 51 (32) set the tone with the bat.
⚑ Robinson also starred with the ball – 2 wickets in a tight spell.
⚑ Barram (31* off 16) was the power finisher before becoming the Super Over hero.

From heartbreaks to history makers – THE PARKS HAVE ARRIVED 🌍πŸ”₯ Game of the Tournament v BMC Victorians of Bangladesh.

Game 3 – Completing the Pool Games

The Abusement Parks came up against Masagamy – ranked #2 in the world and #1 in South Africa – and we knew from the outset it was going to be a huge challenge.

Our opening bowlers started brightly, but soon their batters found the middle and tried sending some orange cricket balls all the way back to Australia. Pick of the bowlers was Lewis Chapman (1/32), taking the only wicket of the day, while Timmy Dee bowled superbly and was desperately unlucky after the final ball cleared the ropes for a home run.

With the bat, we fought hard against a world-class attack that gave us no room to breathe. Despite the tough contest, we stayed true to our Abusement Parks spirit – having a blast both on and off the pitch. Timmy Dee finishing with a β€œduck hat πŸ‘’ again at the end of the day.

To finish the day, we enjoyed a well-earned meal with a view and topped it off with ice cream from the renowned Nichols Ice Creamery (est. 1937) – the perfect way to wrap up pool play.

Day 2 Recap πŸπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§
The team started the day by touring the historic city of Chester – walking the Roman wall and taking in some incredible sights before shifting focus back to cricket, others were curled in bed thanks to a great night out, recovering ready for afternoon activities.

In the late afternoon, we faced the Black Eagles, one of the top-ranked teams nationally in England. Our bowlers were given first crack, and while the Eagles got off to a fast start, there were some strong efforts:

🐒 Turtle – 1/34

πŸ’ͺ Lewis – 1/52

🎯 Barram – 1/13

⚑ Alex – 1/44

Chasing, we came out firing with Danger (39) and Thommy (35) setting the tone early. After their dismissals, momentum slowed – but late fireworks from Levo (49, SR 200+) and Barram (31, SR 200+) kept us in the hunt. Despite the big hitting, we fell short once again.

Another battling performance full of positives, showing the Parks can match it with the best. πŸ”₯

Game 1 Recap 🏏
What an enthralling battle against the Wolf Pack! The Abusment Parks fought hard right until the final ball, but unfortunately fell just short with not quite enough runs on the board.

There were plenty of positives though – Thomas Hall (30) and Alex Featherstone (20) were exceptional with the bat, laying a solid platform for the team. With the ball, the boys kept the fight alive:

🐒 Turtle – 2/25

⚑ Thomas – 2/5

🎯 Alex – 1/8

A great all-round team performance with some brilliant signs for the rest of the tournament. Big things ahead for the Parks! πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯
