What a beautiful morning we shared today at our very first Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea 💛☕

We were truly overwhelmed by the support shown by our extended Ipswich Vigoro family. Thank you to everyone who attended, baked delicious goodies, donated prizes, purchased raffle tickets, or supported our fundraising through our fruit & veg boxes and cookie packs — every single contribution helped make a difference for a cause that has touched far too many of our lives. Thank you also to our very generous event sponsors - Chris Doyle Plumbing & The Ipswich Florist!

Together, we are incredibly proud to say we raised a total of $1637.70 for the Cancer Council 💛

More than the fundraising total though, today was about community, kindness and coming together to support one another — something our association has always done so well.

As one very wise member said today:

“Today was another very proud day to be part of the Ipswich Vigoro community — our association has always been and continues to be so much more than a game.”

Thank you all for helping make our very first Biggest Morning Tea so special. 💛

As a female-focused sporting community, many of our players, families, and friends have been personally impacted by cancer, particularly those affecting women. Join us for a morning of connection, community, and generosity. Enjoy delicious treats, great company, and a chance to dress up and take a well-earned break—while making a meaningful difference.

All funds raised will go directly to the Cancer Council to support cancer research, prevention programs, and support services for Australians affected by cancer. ✨ What a Season – 25/26 Wrap Up ✨

What a year it has been for Ipswich Vigoro!
From hosting incredible events like the Club Championships, Junior State Titles, Mental Health Round, First Nations Exhibition Game, HeartKids Day and Pennants — it has been a season full of community, competition and connection… all building to the biggest day on our calendar — Grand Final Day 🏆

💥 Division 2 Grand Final
Wildcats 🆚 Occasionals

Wildcats set the tone early, posting 56 with Liz Hoskin leading the way with 26. A score a little on the low side when up against some of the strongest and in form batters in this years competition Lucus Darr & Lynne Barnes - Wildcats needed to be flawless - and that they were! With some brilliant bowling and catches by the Wildcats team they quickly dismissed the Occasionals team for just 18 runs and forcing a follow on.
Occasionals showed grit in the second innings, improving to 46, but the task was too great. Wildcats comfortably chased down the 9 runs required to claim the Premiership 🎉 Maddison Domrow was outstanding for Wildcats claiming 12 of the 22 wickets in the game for just 30 runs and was named Player of the Final for her contribution.

Both teams have competed throughout the season with the help of junior players and it has been amazing to watch these young players continue to improve and strengthen each week. Georgia Domrow from Wildcats and Mia Jarvis were even awarded trophies in the division for their outstanding performances. Georgia with the best bowling average of 3.10 and Mia for her dismissals as wicketkeeper. We look forward to nurturing these future stars of our sport and watching what comes next for them.

🔥 Division 1 Grand Final
Occasionals 🆚 Sports

A true Grand Final battle.

Sports were sent in to bat and early nerves showed, slipping to 6/14 before recovering to post 32, thanks to a steadying effort from Rebecca Baartz. Occasionals responded strongly, taking a 19-run first innings lead, but the game was far from over…

Sports came out firing in the second innings, showing incredible tenacity to post 89, with Cassidy Hammond (27) leading the charge, well supported by Megan Packer (13).

Heading into the last innings, Occasionals faced a run chase of 71. Captain Deanne Lawrie will admit if asked that she thought it might be too big of a task — but if there is one team you do not underestimate, it is the ladies in blue 💙

Losing Gillian Chalmers, Deanne Lawrie and Karen Devin quite quickly, the middle order was forced to step up — and they did just that.

Melinda Park, cool under pressure, steadied her team and brought them back into the match with some crucial boundaries. A true game changer, Melinda was deservedly named Player of the Final.

Unfortunately, Melinda was dismissed before the winning runs were scored, leaving it to Shelley Klass and Brooke Dixon to calm the nerves and take on the challenge — and that’s exactly what they did.

In the end, Occasionals secured the runs and the premiership for the season, finishing 6/72 with wickets to spare. During the game we saw some spectacular catches — Nat Dwyer for Occasionals took a screamer mid boundary, while Amanda Wraight for Sports showed safe hands, claiming three catches in the match.

👏 Huge congratulations to Occasionals — not just for the win, but for the culture you represent. Your support, camaraderie and team spirit set the standard for what community sport is all about.

🎉 Season Finale
We wrapped up an incredible day with our Presentation Night — a fantastic way to celebrate the season.
A massive thank you to everyone who helped behind the scenes with set-up, cooking and pack-up — these nights don’t happen without you. And of course… a few laughs (and maybe a cheeky video presentation 😉) to send off the season in style.

💛 Thank You
To our players, volunteers, supporters and families — thank you for being part of another unforgettable season.
This is more than just a sport — it’s a community, and we are proud of what we continue to build together.

A full list of our trophy winners will be posted shortly.
