Mildura Walking Hockey Walking Hockey is a non-contact, low-impact version of hockey growing rapidly across Australia, designed for all ages and abilities.

Delivered by the Sunraysia Hockey Association in Mildura, Victoria, the program aims to increase participation.

Come Solo, bring a friend, your partner, an old teammate or someone who keeps saying they should get out and do something different.
You’re welcome to come Solo: we are a very welcoming festival, and you will be placed into a friendly team.

It’s hockey… just at a different pace!

Walking Hockey is a fun, social and accessible version of the game that keeps you moving, gets you out on the pitch and brings people together.

You don’t have to be the fastest.
You don’t have to be super fit.
And you certainly don’t have to take yourself too seriously!

Our Walking Hockey Festival is coming to Mildura on 17–18 October.

A great family friendly event, all ages welcome.

Do you love hockey? Or are you looking to try something new that’s fun, social, and inclusive? The Sunraysia Walking Hockey Festival is coming back to Mildura this October — and everyone is invited to join in the action!

Walking Hockey is a non-contact, slower-paced version of traditional hockey that’s taking off across Australia. It’s ideal for adults, kids, beginners, and anyone wanting a low-impact way to enjoy the game. With all the strategy, teamwork, and community spirit of hockey—just at a walking pace—it’s the perfect blend of fun, fitness, and friendship.

“Walking Hockey is about bringing people together,” say the event organisers. “It’s a chance to connect with like-minded legends, stay active, and enjoy the great game in an inclusive and welcoming environment.”

For people new to the sport, there will be the opportunity to attend a 30 minute introductory session prior to playing.

Whether you're a seasoned hockey player or completely new to the sport, this is your chance to give it a go! It will be a lot of fun, and the more the better!
