End of an era.

After 20+ years behind the Alpine Sports counter, Howie is retiring. We inherited Howie when we took over the business in 2018, and he taught us everything from which way to face the coathangers to the finer points of a race tune.

From Cam, Michelle and the whole team at Alpine Sports, we would like to thank Howie for his contribution to the business and for bringing his knowledge, experience and good humour to generations of customers and seasons of staff. We'll miss you!

The news we’ve all been waiting for... Big Chairlift is staying in Jindabyne 👏✨

Thanks to an incredible community effort, over $25,000 has been raised through a GoFundMe led by , with support from Mayor Chris Hanna and and bringing it home, to purchase the sculpture and keep it right here in town.

A huge congratulations to everyone who backed the fundraiser - what a moment for local art, community pride, and Lake Light legacy.

The final location is still to be decided, but suggested a pretty iconic one: Banjo Paterson Park, with the lake as a backdrop and visible as you drive into town.
