⭐️JETS Outstanding Contribution Award: Sharon Knott ⭐️
This year’s JETS outstanding contribution goes to our very own incredible Sharon Knott.
We don’t even know where to begin to describe how much Sharon has meant to our program and to so many of us at this association and JETS program! What makes Sharon so truly exceptional, is not just her skill, it is her immense heart. She has approached her role as our Support officer (and many other roles) within our association and program with a profound sense of compassion. To her, these athletes are never just names on a roster or numbers on a court. She sees the individual behind every uniform. She knows when a young player needs a firm word of encouragement, or when they simply need someone to listen. She has created a safe, nurturing space where our young athletes have felt valued, seen, and supported during their sporting journey.
It takes a truly remarkable person to support athletes, coaches and many other individuals in every aspect of their sporting journey. Where some only have to deal with the front part of our program, Sharon has been the one which athletes turn to for support. Her mission has always been clear: to figure out how she can best support everyone on their unique sporting journey. She understands that success looks different for everyone. For one athlete, it might be making the team; for another, it might just be finding the courage to trial again when not successful and having to help them navigate that too. It takes a very rare individual to offer that support. She celebrates those milestones equally. Because of her guidance, hundreds of young individuals have not only become better athletes, but they have also grown into more confident, resilient individuals.
And because of you, we have learnt so much over the last few years. You have offered us guidance and support when needed and have taught us resilience and responsibility. You have inspired and continue to inspire us all to do better, to feel better and to make others believe in themselves like you do.
Sharon, you probably don’t realise just how much you actually mean to us and everyone who has been in this program, but our JETS program and our association is a better, kinder, and stronger place because you are a part of it. Thank you for your outstanding contribution, your fierce passion, and your beautiful heart!
