MM Electrical Club Championships – Final Round Set for a Big Finish
The 2026 MM Electrical Goldfields Golf Club Championships are perfectly poised heading into the deciding rounds, with the Men’s A, B and C Grades having completed two of their three rounds, while the Ladies have completed the first of their two rounds.
Across all grades, there is very little separating the leading players, setting up an excellent finish to one of the club’s biggest events of the year.
Men’s A Grade
Daniel Hywood holds the lead after 36 holes with a total of 157, but there is a very strong chasing pack right behind him.
Carl Naake and Matt Ruly are tied for second on 159, just two shots back, while Duane Teamo Jnr sits only another shot behind on 160.
The leaderboard is tightly packed, with Dave King, Paul Clarke and Ben Thompson all on 161, while Joshua Rushmore and Keiron Shave sit on 162.
With nine players separated by only five shots, the A Grade Championship is wide open and one strong final round could completely reshape the leaderboard.
Men’s B Grade
Ross Turnbull has established the lead in B Grade with a 36-hole total of 169.
He has a three-shot advantage over Mike Exell and Kevin Smart, who are tied for second on 172, while Lui Camporeale is right in contention on 173, only four shots from the lead.
JK Rowling is another shot back on 174, with Matt Cannan on 175, meaning the top six are covered by only six shots.
Turnbull is in the box seat, but there is still plenty of golf to be played and several players are close enough to make a serious charge in the final round.
Men’s C Grade
C Grade promises to be another great contest, with just one shot separating the top two players.
Jim Lofthouse leads after 36 holes on 182, with Gary Speers breathing down his neck on 183.
There is then a five-shot gap back to Daniel Glide on 188, while Ian Slater sits on 190 and Craig McCrystal on 192.
Neill Jacobs and John Pavlinovich are tied on 199.
The battle between Lofthouse and Speers looks set to be one of the highlights of the final round, although Glide remains close enough to apply pressure if the leaders stumble.
Ladies Championship
The Ladies Championship is even tighter after the opening round, with Elissa Quinn-Williams and Mikala Richardson sharing the lead on 98.
Just one shot behind them is Julie Johnson on 99, while Joy Sayyen remains right in contention on 101.
Cathy Gaby sits on 103, followed by Lisa Mitchell on 114, Cassandra Jaeger on 122 and Melanie Mansson on 124.
With only three shots separating the top four players, the Ladies Championship is set for a very exciting second and final round.
Everything to Play For
With one round remaining for the Men and one final round remaining for the Ladies, none of the major titles are safely decided.
A Grade has a packed leaderboard, B Grade has a strong group within striking distance, C Grade is effectively a head-to-head battle at the top, and the Ladies Championship has several players separated by only a handful of shots.
It all sets up a fantastic finish at the Goldfields Golf Club as the 2026 Club Champions are crowned.
A big thank you to MM Electrical for their continued support of the Goldfields Golf Club and for sponsoring one of the club’s premier events.
