🦁 HOW’S OUR PRIDE DOING? 💙💛

The boots have been packed away, the weekends are a little quieter, and our Lions families have been enjoying a well-earned break from the sidelines!

We’ve loved looking back on all the little moments that made the 2026 season special — the friendships, the laughs, the big efforts from our littlest Lions, and of course, the legends who keep the Den running.

While the footy’s been on pause, we hope our Lions families have been making the most of their weekends (and maybe enjoying a sleep-in or two! 😂).

So, tell us Lions families — are you loving the off-season, or is someone in your house missing their weekend footy?

🦁🏉 WHAT A WAY TO FINISH THE SEASON! 💙💛

We really couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap up another fantastic season at the Lions Rugby Union Club.

A massive thank you to our coaches, committee and volunteers who put in countless hours throughout the year to make it all happen. And, of course, to our Lions families, players and supporters who turn up week after week and make this little club the community it is.

A special thank you to our local members for joining us and for their ongoing support of grassroots sport, and to Queensland Reds Rugby for coming along and making the day that little bit more special for our young Lions. There were certainly a few very excited kids! 🏉🙌

And of course, the highly contested annual Parents vs Kids fixture didn’t disappoint! The kids threw absolutely everything at it, but experience once again prevailed, with the parents getting up in a very tight one! 😂🏆

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Lions this season. It’s been a great year, and we can’t wait to get the Lions family back together again next year.

Enjoy the off-season, Lions! 💙💛🦁🏉

📣 Committee Positions Vacant – AGM Tomorrow 🦁

Our AGM is being held tomorrow, which means all executive roles are now vacant.

The following positions will be voted on tomorrow:

President – Provides leadership and direction for the club, chairs meetings, oversees club operations and represents the club within the community.

Vice President – Supports the President, assists with club operations and performs the President’s duties when they are unavailable.

Secretary – Manages meeting agendas and minutes, correspondence, club records, notices and other administrative requirements.

Treasurer – Manages the club’s finances, including banking, payments, budgets, financial records and reporting to the committee.

Club Registrar – Coordinates player, coach, volunteer and team registrations, maintains registration records and liaises with members and governing bodies regarding registration requirements.

We are also looking for volunteers who would be happy to assist with general club duties, including participating in a rotating canteen roster. Sharing these duties will help ensure the same small group of people is not left running the canteen every week.

Our club can only operate with the support of volunteers, and every contribution is greatly appreciated.

If you are interested in nominating for a position or helping occasionally throughout the season, please attend tomorrow’s AGM or contact the club.🦁🦁
