There are times when being part of a club means so much more than what happens on a footy field.

One of our KKJRL families has suffered the unimaginable, losing their family home and belongings in a devastating house fire.

Most importantly, all eight members of the family made it out safely, and for that we are incredibly thankful. But they are now facing the heartbreaking reality of having to rebuild their lives and replace the everyday things most of us never think twice about.

This family has been part of our Kangaroos community for many years, and right now, it’s our turn to wrap around them. 🧡

A GoFundMe has been established to help ease some of the immediate financial pressure and support the family as they begin to work through what comes next.

We know our community will want to help in whatever way they can. Donations can be made directly through the GoFundMe, and the family is also gratefully accepting donations of clothing and other everyday essentials. Even simply sharing the GoFundMe can help it reach more people.

Our club has always talked about Family, Mateship, Heart & Passion - and moments like this are when those values matter most.

So, Roos family and wider Karratha community, let’s do what we do best.

Our club has had an incredible year, and now we’re looking for people who want to help us keep building, improving and creating opportunities for our players and families in 2027. 🖤🧡💛🤍

There’s a role for everyone - whether you want to take on a leadership position, help behind the scenes, bring new ideas or simply be part of a great team.

A huge thank you to the South Hedland Cougars RLFC for hosting such a fantastic day of rugby league! It was great to see clubs from across the Pilbara come together and give our kids another opportunity to get out on the field and play the game they love.
🖤🤍💛🧡

And an extra special thank you to all of our travelling Roos families! We know it’s only a small Pilbara road trip 😉, but we also know the time and effort that goes into getting everyone there. We really appreciate you continuing to support these opportunities for our kids.

Our juniors had an absolute ball throughout the day, and one of the highlights was seeing our Roos happily jumping in with other teams to help make up numbers. That’s what junior footy is all about - mateship, family, respect and a love of rugby league, no matter what jersey you’re wearing. 🦘🏉

Our senior sides also put in a couple of great games, with both our U14s and U17s playing two games each and finishing the day with one win and one loss. 💪

Most importantly, there were plenty of smiles, plenty of footy and plenty of our KKJRL values on display.

Thanks for having us Hedland,we loved it! 🖤🤍🧡💛
