Last week, seven of our WPJFL Youth Girls players attended a skills session hosted by the Swan Districts Football Club. The girls all provided fantastic feedback and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to further develop their football skills.

Programs like these are invaluable in helping create pathways for our young female footballers, and we look forward to seeing these opportunities continue to grow in the future. A big thank you to the Swans for their support and commitment to developing the next generation of talent! 🏉🖤🤍

We absolutely love having her part of our crew. 🤩🏉 Wednesdays just wouldn’t be the same without her!

Our Year 3-6 girls were absolutely BUZZING yesterday!

We were lucky enough to have Hayley Thompson from the West Coast Eagles join us, and safe to say… the energy was next level! 💙 🏉

So many smiles, skills on show, and memories made, the girls had an absolute blast learning from one of the best.

NOTICE - FEMALE TRAINING SESSIONS

Youth Development Masterclass and Training Session
MONDAY, JUNE 15
Free for all girls aged 12-18, Swan Districts WAFLW star Jaime Henry and WAFLW Senior Coach Jason Burton will run a training session to enhance the skill and game awareness of females at Bulgarra Oval from 5:30pm to 7pm. All players are welcome to attend and should register their place at:

Coaches of female teams and junior teams are also welcome to attend the session to assist and learn.

Female Football Development Forum
MONDAY JUNE 15
Following the training session on Monday, an open forum and discussion will be held at Bulgarra Oval for any interested stakeholders and identified people who could help, to discuss best options for a Girls Academy and development program to be set up in the Pilbara, mirroring the boys Academy already running. The forum is to identify:
· Who would manage/coordinate locally
· Coaches and support staff options
· Funding options
· Schedule and how it fits with current training/games
· SDFC support, engagement and opportunities for players to come to Perth for Dev Squad/Rogers Cup

Junior and Senior club representatives are encouraged to attend the discussion and assist in mapping a future path for females.

Pilbara Coach Education Session
TUESDAY, JUNE 17
Swan Districts WAFLW Senior Coach Jason Burton is available to deliver a coaching session/seminar, mainly targeting coaches of females but open to all levels of coaches across all grades. The session will upskill local coaches and provide advice on training, skill development, and key areas of focus in getting the best out of players, with opportunity to ask questions and explore any topic.
