ROUND 2 RESULTS!!! ✅ ✅ ❎
After winning the toss, B Grade elected to send Edgewater in to bat and the decision paid off brilliantly. Consistent, economical bowling saw wickets fall regularly as Edgewater were dismissed for just 91.
Captain Neal led the attack with an outstanding 5/33 from 16 overs, well supported by Adi (3/9 off 7 overs) and Scaf (2/18 off 6 overs).
In reply, a solid opening partnership of 45 put the innings on track before a collapse saw the team slump to 4/64. However, Callum and Ruan steadied the innings with a match-winning partnership that guided the side past the target.
Callum anchored the chase superbly, finishing unbeaten on 103 from 102 balls, while Ruan (31) and Neal (30) made valuable contributions as B Grade secured a comfortable victory.
E Grade lost the toss and were sent in to bat by Sorrento Duncraig, after a shaky start at 3/26, the middle order rebuilt the innings to post a competitive 217! Andrew was the top scorer, who remained unbeaten on 40*- his highest score for Karrinyup with Richo (33) and Noor (30) the next best!
Defending the target, our bowlers were relentless from the outset. Richo starred with the ball, claiming 4/16 from 14.3 overs, while Sacha (2/20 off 11 overs) and Luke (2/19 off 10 overs) also contributed with multiple wickets. The opposition never recovered from regular wicket losses and were eventually dismissed for just 99 securing an emphatic win for E Grade!
After being sent in to bat by Warwick Greenwood, G Grade fought hard to post 9-136 before declaring after 71.5 overs. Our young Opener, Archie, showed great patience and determination, carrying his bat for an unbeaten 46 off 222 balls! Nick provided valuable support with 40 getting the team to a defendable score.
Our bowlers produced an outstanding display of disciplined cricket. The opposition never settled as wickets fell at regular intervals, with Luke Hogan leading the charge in a superb spell of 5/30 from 18 overs. He was brilliantly supported by Cory (1/21 from 16 overs), Arnav (1/11 from 14 overs) and Nick (0/13 off 13 overs), who kept the scoring under constant pressure.
Unfortunately, the relentless bowling attack wasn't enough as Warwick Greenwood scraped to 8/137 before Luke Hogan finished the innings off in the same over.
Our Clarkson North Dental Care Fusion Real Estate Player of the Round award goes to Callum Higginson who hit an impressive 103 from 102 balls in B Grade's comprehensive win over Edgewater! This is Callum's second century for Karrinyup!!
