🛼 RDA Community Priority Survey Results are in!

We’ve heard from the Australian Roller Derby community about what matters most and where the Technical Committee can provide the most support.

Now is your chance to join us and help turn these community priorities into practical improvements for Roller Derby across Australia.

Skate Australia is calling for EOIs to join the Roller Derby Technical Committee. If you’d like to have a voice and help shape the future of our sport, this is your opportunity to get involved.

🥳Thank you TGSS &📣we want your voice!

A huge thank you to Adelaide for once again putting on an incredible The Great Southern Slam, what an amazing weekend of derby! It was fantastic to connect with so many of you and talk all things roller derby 🛼

Following TGSS, the RDA Technical Committee Community Priorities Survey is still open!

We want to hear from skaters, officials, volunteers, leagues, and supporters about what matters most to you and where we should be focusing our efforts.

👉 Even if you’re not a SA member league, we still want to hear from you. RDA is committed to supporting the whole roller derby community across all rulesets, and your voice matters in shaping what comes next.

📌 We don’t want to assume what the community wants, we want to hear it directly from you.

🎉 We’re at The Great Southern Slam! 🎉

Come by and check out our table! We'd love to hear from all the roller derby folk so please leave a suggestion, fill out our survey, and grab a sticker while you're there. 😊

If nobody is at the table when you stop by, it’s probably because we’re out playing, supporting our teams, or watching the games. Please don’t let that stop you from checking things out and leaving us your feedback!

Support Team Indigenous Dreaming to continue creating visibility and opportunities for First Nations Skaters and Officials in the roller derby community 🫶

2026 IS AN EXCITING YEAR FOR TEAM INDIGENOUS DREAMING!

We’re coming together stronger than ever - First Nations skaters and officials from across Oceania who live on these lands known today as Australia, grounded in community, culture and deep connection to Country.

We skate with purpose - honouring our Ancestors, representing our people and creating space in a sport where our presence hasn’t always been visible.

💥 We need your help to make this year happen! 💥

Your support helps cover the real costs of coming together - travel, accommodation, and uniforms - so we can show up united, proud and unstoppable.

We are building something bigger than ourselves - creating pathways, connection and belonging for Blak and Brown skaters in Australia.

💸 Donate. Share. Back the team.

Today, on International Trans Day of Visibility, and following the recent decision by the International Olympic Committee, Roller Derby Australia want to clearly affirm our position:

Roller derby is for everyone. The community welcome athletes of all genders and identities and believe trans women have a rightful place in women’s sport across all rulesets and levels of participation.

As World Skate roller derby sits within broader governance structures, we have contacted the appropriate WS board members to seek clarity on how these developments may impact athletes.

We remain committed to inclusivity across our sport, advocating for trans and gender diverse athletes, and to working proactively on how we can uphold and express these values within broader sporting frameworks.

EDIT: we have turned off comments to keep this RDA's position not public opinion. If you would like to discuss this with us please send us a message or email
