You get to feel good about yourself RIGHT NOW. You deserve to. It is your birth right.

You don’t need to wait until you:

Make the next level in your business
You win a gold medal at the Olympics
You make that next acting gig
You have the cleanest house while looking after a little one

Choose to feel into what you want.

Choose to be grateful for who is in your life or what you have currently.

Choose to realise that you can be HAPPY now AND go after your goals and dreams.

You don’t need to have it all figured out to be happy.

Happiness is a choice in the moment. It is a habit.

Choose a moment each day that you can hook into the habit of happiness. E.g. making a cup of coffee in the morning, waiting in line for a coffee, when you first wake up (set your alarm with a reminder).

Please share with me below how you are going to choose to be happy today?

We are in a world where we love talking about how busy we are.

You would be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't respond to "how are you going?" with

"Super busy."
"Juggling so many things."

For the most part this is true. We are juggling and trying to do more than previous generations. I take my hat off to those who are working and home schooling.

However, having the frame of mind that you are super busy is stressful when you stop and think.

Say this out loud:

"I am super busy today"
"I have things on and it is all under control"

Do you see the difference?

A simple shift in HOW you communicate what you are doing, reduces the reaction you have to life.

Also, please, please, please understand that RECOVERY, FUN and SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS are just as important to goal achievement as doing the damn work!

I am not saying you break every time it gets hard. Not for one moment. When you work, you work. When you're training, you train.

Give yourself permission to relax, enjoy life, sleep and socialise.

Put it in your calendar like you do anything else.

Please share with me in the comments how you are going to relax, socialise or enjoy your life this weekend? Make sure you book it in!

TRUE STORY: There was a woman who could not feel fear AT ALL.

Scientists have been studying her for years…

They worked out that part of the amygdala (the fear centre of the brain) had calcified which resulted in her never experiencing fear.

This was helpful for her because she always said what she wanted to say, did what she wanted to do and frankly acted according to her interests.

She’s also been held at gunpoint 3 times.

You see, not having ANY fear means that we also don’t pick up on the signs our brains give us that we are not in a good situation.

Fear is crucial to our survival.

It stops us from doing STUPID things like jumping off a building or walking down a dark alley.

However, too much fear can be incredibly debilitating, overwhelming and frankly it’s not helpful either.

What we need is the right balance of belief that we can achieve a task & a small amount of fear that helps us to take the task seriously, injects us with cortisol (at a healthy level) and allows us to have the energy to perform at our peak when it matters most.

So in short, we need fear. Just not too much.

If you resonated with this, please share!

The universe never gives you what you want or need.

It gives you what you subconsciously believe about yourself.

The easiest way to work this out is to ask yourself questions about how you feel about yourself achieving your next big goal.

Write down your goal and then write 'but...'

List all the things that come after.

E.g. I exercise every day and am really fit
but...
I don't feel like working out
It's too cold in the morning
I can't be bothered because I am too tired
I am afraid of what people think when I work out
I don't know how to use the machines etc.

When you've written it all down, you'll start to see the themes on paper about what you feel about yourself. If you dig deeper, things will really show up for you.

Through this process if you realise that something is holding you back, get in touch and I'll send you my free High Performance Planner that will help you plan and work through your beliefs associated with your next big goal.

Are you on the perpetual high performance rat race?

For those that don't know Robert Kiyosaki coined the term 'rat race' to mean the endless, self-defeating, or pointless pursuit of achievement, fame, money and status.

This pursuit is often driven by inner needs that people on the rat race believe will be met IF they achieve the next big thing.

Does this sound familiar?

😩 You push yourself from a place of dislike and hate for what you have/your current life circumstance and/or who you are?

😰 You force yourself to do things you don't enjoy because you think it will help you get ahead?

❌ When you achieve what you want, you have a short experience of enjoyment before you feel a strong urge to achieve your next big goal.

This then leads you to work damn hard and dislike the process to achieve the next big goal.

You get to the end and achieve the next goal and then you feel within 24-48 hours that you MUST achieve the next goal to be happy.

THIS NEVER WORKS!

Instead, you have a choice to find things to be happy about in your life NOW.

Based on the science of gratitude, you can create a habit in about 1 minute per day (more if you want, of course). Start by:

1) thinking about what you are TRULY grateful for (not what you should be grateful for 💞

2) feel the feelings of that gratitude and write it down or say it out loud 😊

3) Send a message to a person sharing your gratitude (or write down what you're grateful about yourself) 💌💬

4) Promise yourself you'll do this every single day for 1 minute. ⌚

5) Connect it with something you already do (i.e. waiting for the kettle to boil in the morning). ☕

Repeat every day for 45 days to create a strong neural pathway 🧠

Share below how you are going to add gratitude into your day so you can achieve and be happy at the same time so I can hold you accoutable!

I was working with an actor recently who just came out of a full time theatre gig.

We were working on anxiety around remembering lines in auditions as he had struggled to a few times while he was at NIDA.

Even though it was so long ago and he was an established actor, he still couldn’t shift this deep anxiety for auditions. He always performed well in auditions but he did it from such an anxious place.

We worked through it together and within half an hour his anxiety level was from a 9/10 to a 3/10.

Here is when it gets interesting.

Something he thought was completely unrelated came to him.

It was a quote from Mike Tyson about how he spends as much time in the gym as he does trying to fend off people trying to take his money (or words to that effect).

He told me what he had just experienced and thought it was unrelated.

I explained that it was more related than he realised.

The quote was about money and I said ‘so what happens when you succeed in an audition?’ he paused.

“Oh of course, I get paid.”

It then hit him like a tonne of bricks.

He then realised that his anxiety around auditions was not about learning lines but it was about a fear of his next big move.

Often what you think is the problem/fear/anxiety, is just the surface level. When you dig deeper, it all becomes clear.

When we get to this level of clarity, real transformational shifts start to happen.

Have you ever attributed a sense of stress or anxiety to a surface level thing only to find out down the track it was a deeper fear?

What is a Happy High Flyer?

It is YOU, when you are living a life that truly lights you up because it is sustainble, growth orientated, fun, healthy and with relationships that set you on fire! 🔥💕🍾🥗😴

It is about doing MORE of what you love (or what gets you to what you love) and less of all the noise and stupid thing that you SHOULD do or that you are AFRAID if you don’t do, you won’t get where you want to go. 🙅‍♀️❌

It is being guided by your INTUITION to live your best life. 🧠❤️💡

It is feeling the fear, removing the root cause and then doing it anyway with more ease and flow.

Sure, you will fear a healthy level of fear but it won’t be the same level as what you currently experience because your brain is working with you, not against you! 🧠💡😆

It is about putting all the parts of you to bed that don’t support your greater self.

We thank the people pleaser, the overachiever, the procrastinator, the self-hater, the self doubter, the perfectionist, the self sabotager and we take the learnings from them to ultimately let go of their fears so you can step into your best self.

Your focus shifts to your career, health, business, relationships - any part of your life that truly needs more time and attention.

You realises that sometimes things that seem completely unrelated are holding them back from achieving the next big goal. E.g. a relationship you can't let go of could be the biggest thing that is preventing business success.

In short, Happy High Flyers are growth orientated, ambitious high achievers who do not achieve to get away from a bad life and thoughts. Instead, they go after goals because they love themselves, their lives and they know that growing and developing is part of an awesome life, not to get away from a bad one.

If you resonated with this post, please like, share and follow so I can keep the posts coming your way.

On the topic of positive thinking which I think often is misunderstood.

When we talk about positive thinking, we often think about having a really optimistic outlook on life like my bub has when she eats (most of the time).

(Just quietly I wanted a great excuse to share a recent pic of Eloise LOVING her food 😜😆).

So I don't believe we should pretend to be positive when we are really not feeling it. I actually feel so strongly about the topic that I wrote an ebook on this in 2016.

It is not to say that optimism isn't helpful. It really is, after you've processed the initial emotions that come up.

From a psychological perspective, all fake positivity does is push down our feelings and prevent us from healing from them.

The latest research indicates the conscious, rational and ‘higher level thinking’ parts of the brain are in constant conflict with the subconscious, primitive, emotional parts of the brain.

So we rationally decide to be positive but emotionally we feel negative and all this does is prolong the time we are fighting our emotions.

Instead, we can take a page out of a baby's book.

👼 When babies are happy, they are happy and really relish in the moment (have you seen her sheer happiness - who'd have thought you could get so much enjoyment from pear and apple? 😆)

👼 When babies are sad, bored or angry, they let you know.

👼 Often it only takes a few minutes to calm them but sometimes it takes more and we ACCEPT that they need us and help them through their emotions.

So instead of fake positivity, let's accept that ALL emotions are a part of life and sometimes we're going to feel S #!T and that is totally normal.

Sometimes just accepting the emotion and then finding something to be grateful for is enough. is a great way of being positive without it feeling fake.

Other times this won't cut it and we need help to heal from our deeper emotions or trauma. Let's allow ourselves to experience this.

Only after we have accepted how we feel and moved through the emotions, can we find the learning and optimistic view.

If you would like to know how to heal from your emotions without letting them linger so that you can find the learning and an optimistic view of the situation, DM me and I'll send you the ebook.

WANT A FAST TRACK MASTERS TO PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT SO YOU GET THE MENTAL EDGE TO ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS?

The problem with the personal development and coaching industry is that there is a wealth of information out there that most aspiring high performers absorb to try and get ahead.

This means that people are reading posts, blogs, listening to books, podcasts and practically anything that will give them the edge to succeed.

Then don’t get me started on the 45 things you need to do in your morning routine which science shows just lowers your willpower to GET S #!T DONE.

While you get inspiration for a short while, research shows that you are far less likely to go ahead and take action because you’ve spent your willpower absorbing content and preparing yourself for the day ahead.

This leaves most tired, frustrated, overwhelmed and chasing their tail because they are flat out trying to keep up with absorbing the content and routines, instead of going after what they want.

THE SOLUTION?

Spend less time absorbing content and be very selective about your morning routine and do one of the following things:

=> Go after an audacious goal that is unrelated to your day job
=> Have a child*
=> Start a business where no one relies on you except yourself
=> Get into a relationship where you grow together (i.e. one that pushes your buttons, makes you think, helps you to be your best)

_______

In short, do something that is scary and challenges your sense of self.

Something that is out of your comfort zone.

While these things seem unrelated to personal growth, they all uncover your deepest and darkest fears, anxieties, insecurities.

They create a mirror with experiences and outcomes that keep showing up until you decide to take ownership, do things differently and reach a new way of thinking and acting to create the lasting change you deserve.

There is a caveat…

To get the most out of your *Masters*, it is helpful to learn psychological skills to help you heal from past experiences that are preventing you from being triggered and finding joy outside your comfort zone.

In this *Masters* there is a requirement to:

=> constantly reflect
=> heal your triggers, beliefs and emotions
=> find new perspectives
=> REPEAT

Do this daily for 12months to 2 years and you’re well on your way to a MASTERS in Personal development a.k.a. REAL LIFE GROWTH.

And the best part…

You’ll get an *internal* certificate that is transformational. It will be your new set of subconscious beliefs that will guide you for the rest of your life.

You are likely to continue to add to this certificate along the way.

But know this…

Once you start the transformation, you never go back to where you started.

If you would like help working on your unique Masters of Transformation, DM me and we can have a chat.

*Please DO NOT have a baby unless it is something you truly want, are ready for and you are in a position to do so (please use common sense 😘).

I really resonate with this post.

In my opinion, after getting over some pretty big fears in my life (claustrophobia and public speaking to name a few), there is nothing more powerful than getting past your biggest fears so you can achieve your deepest desires.

Do you agree?
