Applications for the SESF scholarships are open! 🌟

The Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund (SESF) is a national charity that proudly invests in the future of Australian sport by providing financial scholarships of $1000 to support and empower talented young athletes who are experiencing financial hardship.

They support athletes aged 10-18 years-old, whose financial circumstances would preclude them from otherwise participating at representative level for their state/territory or Australia in national and international championships.

2025 was a phenomenal year for Croydon table tennis! Let’s have a look back at the year we’ve had 🏓

Ping-Pong-A-Thon was a great success, Jim Goodwin as the resident DJ, Giant table, Mini Table, Blacklight table, tournaments and challenges everywhere! A 12 Metre smash lob onto the mini table record couldn’t be broken. Mel Haughton was the winner of a field of 16 midnight players in the very first wooden spoon tournament, and at 3am there were still dozens of people playing 🤯

The Christmas party was also brilliant with great displays of athletic table tennis from Dillon Chambers, Alex Huang, Anthony Silk, Alyssa Yeung, Louisa Fung, Ellen Walker & Lobby Ben Nugent… and a massive thanks to Stuart Gin for a professional umpiring job!

Our dedicated players and volunteers also got the recognition they deserved.

Also, a shout out to the new headquarters in Box hill! If you haven’t checked out the CDTTA’s new Associated District partner, you probably should. This will become a legendary training hub and we will see many amazing new players coming through. Keep an eye on this space!!

🕛 Starts 12am Saturday
💲 Entry: $20 (all funds donated!)
Both players start at 30 points… every point you win, your score goes down. First to reach zero wins. You are not allowed to use your own racket!! Frank will provide equipment from a magical bag of tricks. Gloriously chaotic.

This is a closed RBU tournament to see who can Blast each other off the table from the RBU club!

9:30–11:30 am as usual.

✨ Frank’s Saturday Group Training
11:45 am–1:45 pm running as normal.

✨ Frank’s regular coaching
50% of the coaching fee is donated and you can have a lesson at any available time during the 24 hour period.

Plus: 24-hour FREE court access for all participants!

The annual CDTTA Xmas Comp starts this Tuesday 9 December, and runs for eight consecutive Tuesdays. It’s not a pennant competition – you can join for as few or as many weeks as you like.

The playing dates are December 9, 16, 23 & 30, and January 6, 13, 20 & 27. All matches will commence at 7.30pm.

The format will be a round robin with groups of 4-5 players, best of 5 games. The match results will *not* go to Ratings Central.

The cost of entry is $14 per session, or $99 for all 8 weeks. You can turn up on the night, but are much more likely to be placed in a suitable group if you’ve entered in advance.

It’s easiest to pay beforehand on the website, though we’ll also accept payment via card or cash (exact change, please) on the night.

Whether or not you’ve already registered, when you arrive at 115 Liverpool Rd, Kilsyth, please check in at the control room in the main table tennis stadium.

There will be no teams for this competition. The round robin groups will likely be different each week, as players will move up or down, depending on the results for each session and who turns up.
