On Friday 2nd October, the KRFC executive and committee members were privileged to attend the 2026 CCF Chairman’s Dinner. An event held to celebrate the success of the season, the community of football and congratulate those who deserve recognition.
This year, KRFC took out two major awards.
Involved with the Roos since 2011, Phil Batey has taken our Division One squad through several successes. Humbly accepting his award for the 2026 MDiv1 Coach of the Year, Phil said “The success of what we’ve done this year is built on a team of people, it’s not about me. I want to thank the other people who have helped in the role, Shanan and Scott, who have been a big part of the success this year.”
First time as Head Coach, the KRFC WPL finished third, with their highest ever points total of 39 point, John Chilvers was awarded the 2026 WPL Coach of the Year. Accepting his award, John said “I’d like to thank the girls. It has been a collaborative effort coaching, so this one is for the team.”
To both coaches, congratulations. Thank you for your passion, perseverance and continued drive for the teams and the club. If 2026 was this good, we can’t wait to see what 2027 brings.
We are Kincumber Roos FC!
