💚💛 2026 KINGLAKE NETBALL SEASON REVIEW 💛💚
What a season it has been for Kinglake Netball! Five teams, plenty of new faces, returning Lakers, big wins, close losses and, of course, some silverware along the way. Here’s a look back at each of our teams and their 2026 seasons.
💚💛 KINGLAKE 1 – DIVISION 2
Our first season in Division 2 saw Kinglake 1 finish with 5 wins and 1 draw. The girls never went down without a fight, keeping the average losing margin to just 10 goals in what was an incredibly competitive division where every team challenged each other.
New players Bridie Cantwell, Lauren Howlett and Toni Bootland quickly moulded into the Lakers’ style of play, while Nakita Meade once again led the team as captain. We also welcomed Jacinta Parke back to the club after a season away welcoming her beautiful daughter.
This group showed plenty of promise throughout the season and will head into 2027 with another year of Division 2 experience behind them. 💚💛
💚💛 KINGLAKE 2 – DIVISION 6 PREMIERS
What a season! Minor Premiers and then Premiers, finishing with an incredible 12 wins and 1 draw.
Led by captain Taryn Jennings, the team fought hard all season and finally got their hands on the silverware after Taryn’s incredible 200+ game journey with Kinglake made even more special by doing it alongside her niece, Lexi Pappin, who continues to establish herself as one of Kinglake’s rising stars and Leagues Leading goaler.
Kathy Carden also led the charge throughout the season before announcing her retirement, finishing her Kinglake career with a premiership. Kathy, thank you for your years of hard work and dedication you will be missed.
We also welcomed young local talent Arabella Bailey, who made her Kinglake debut this season, while Tilly Withers went back-to-back, claiming another premiership and being named Best on Court in the Grand Final.
A phenomenal season from KL2! 🏆
💚💛 KINGLAKE 3 – DIVISION 7
Just missing out on a finals position by 4 points, Kinglake 3 finished the season with an impressive 9 wins and 1 draw.
Led by local legend Renee Wilson, this team welcomed a brand-new group of players to the Lakers. We introduced an incredibly fast midcourt with Bec Barat, Lauren Christian, Brielle Gardam and Maddy Omizzolo, while Larni Bullock and Samantha Kirkright joined our defensive end.
When this team got the ball moving, you didn’t want to blink or you’d miss it! 😂
A fantastic season from KL3, and we look forward to welcoming this group back in 2027 as they continue to bring experience, speed and skill to the club.
💚💛 KINGLAKE 4 – DIVISION 13
Another team full of new faces, KL4 had a slow start to the season but finished with so much promise, winning 4 games and drawing 1, while pushing through plenty of close contests.
This team was made up of a wonderfully versatile group of players, with most players taking on multiple positions throughout the season. Their willingness to learn, adapt and step into different roles was a huge part of their development throughout the year.
We welcomed local players Hannah Chakli, Maggie Withers and rising star Lily De Lulio, who all showed fantastic improvement and a real eagerness to develop their game.
There was plenty of growth across this team, and while the season may have started slowly, the way they finished showed just how much potential this group has. We can’t wait to see what they can build on in 2027!
💚💛 KINGLAKE 5 – DIVISION 15 MINOR PREMIERS & PREMIERS
Another Minor Premiership and Premiership for the Lakers! 🏆
This team was put together only a few weeks out from the start of the season as Kinglake continued to grow in numbers. Following league approval for a fifth team, we welcomed plenty of new faces to the club and what a team they became.
Jenny Shaw took the reins as captain and finished the season in style, being named Best on Court in the Grand Final and Leagues Leading goaler.
New Lakers Steph Berryman and Shae Lea Roberts also made their mark, showing great strength and commitment in their positions, while returning Kinglake legends Rachael Booker and Steph Booker brought plenty of experience back into the green and gold.

To everyone who dedicated their time to our five teams this season, the club extends its sincere thanks.
Without our coaches and team managers giving up their Friday nights, weekends, time at training and countless hours behind the scenes, Friday Night Netball simply wouldn’t happen.
The success of Kinglake Netball is a reflection of the people who continue to give their time, knowledge and energy to our players. We are incredibly grateful for everything you have done throughout 2026.
