AKLON OPEN COMPETITION

Junior High Performance and Development Squads πŸ‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

This year is a building year for the girls, our aim is to build strength, technique and resilience.

The goal for all of them at this comp was to qualify for Junior state championships, along with some individual non total related goals.

Goals were well and truly achieved with all of them surpassing their Jnr, U23 and Snr State totals, along with their Junior Nationals totals.
3 of the girls hit Senior National totals (2 others were oh so close).
One surpassed both her Junior and Senior International totals.

The girls also achieved all their individual goals, and despite some of them desperately wanting to go heavier they all maintained positive attitudes and stuck to their comp plans.

Scroll through each caption to read their results πŸ™Œ

Indi has had to make the switch from squat jerk to split jerk, and it’s fair to say we didn’t expect to see numbers like this until maybe the end of the year. Indi’s rapid progress is a testament to the positive mindset she approached this challenge with, and all the very hard work she has put in.

We still have a lot of work to do, but Indi has shown she’s up for the challenge πŸ‘πŸ‘

Two of our well deserving young athletes were presented with the 2026 Commonwealth Games Australia Athlete Grant this weekend. The $1000 grant is to help young athletes with the costs associated with training and competing.

We appreciate the ongoing support of Commonwealth Games NSW for emerging young athletes πŸ™πŸ’šπŸ’›

Congratulations Indianna Wilson and Tasman Sutton πŸ™Œ

Indi and Tas are both hard working athletes and great role models for our younger athletes. Along with training they both started uni this year, and they both generously give back to our Club. Both have done the TO course and help at competitions, and Indi recently completed the AWF Level 2 coaching course.

They are very deserving grant recipients and we are extremely proud of them πŸ₯ΉπŸ‘
