Honouring tradition, celebrating together

On 14 February 2026, our dojo was proud to receive official recognition as Shimbukan Shibu Dojo 信武舘支部道場 here in NSW. A Shibu Dojo is a branch of a main organisation, officially licensed to operate under the central headquarters (Honbu Dojo). It is led by a senior instructor entrusted to teach the style’s curriculum, etiquette, and traditions with integrity and authenticity. This recognition reflects our responsibility to uphold and share Okinawan Kobudo as it was intended. This milestone is more than a certificate; it represents lineage, trust, and our commitment to preserving authentic Okinawan Kobudo.

To mark the occasion, we held an Okinawan-style celebration in the dojo, sharing food, stories, and gratitude with our students. Moments like these remind us that our dojo is not just a place to train, but a community connected through culture, respect, and tradition.
